Friday 1st Round (non-UConn games) thread

I don't know why Pitt wasn't scheduled to play yesterday, but obviously Capel did something with the extra day and Iowa St. did not.

I had Pitt winning this is 2 of my 3 brackets. But I don't have them going to S16. Three games in six days with basically a 6.5 man rotation is asking a bit much.
The fact that they're even competiting as we speak speaks volumes... Hurley has to win today

What is a probable line against St. Mary's? -7? I would go big UCONN.

What was that about Pitt caking its pants? It’s happening.

This Pitt/Iowa State game has the potential to be truly legendary in the long and distinguished history of Pitt throat blockage.

Is Jeff Anderson one of Hurley's "problem refs"? Hes doing our game.

The New Big East is a little different from the Old Big East.

In the old Big East, it was already well established as one of the best if not the best conferences, so there was no need to cheer the other teams. I rooted against UConn plenty. I also cheered for them some.

The new big east still has to prove itself so the teams have been rooting for each other. And sufficient to say, they still have to do it outside of one program.

All true and great points but still a stark difference from when I was younger. You would think the portal would counterbalance some of that with some of these players moving up a level.
I think also that coaching is better at all levels, but it's gone up more at the mids and equivalents. The Internet is a great equalizer. #Mathball also de-emphasizes athleticism and height in some ways, which was easier for high majors to recruit. There's a lot more athletic 6'4" guys with coordination out there than athletic 6'11" guys with coordination, just based on height charts.

Why?

I swear the schadenfreude people feel for conference opponents when they struggle in the national tournament.

It makes not freakin sense.

I was distracted watching the game, so apologies for the poorly worded reply.

I think fans of UConn who take joy in conference opponents' struggles in the NCAA Tournament are pennywise, pound foolish. If Creighton, Xavier, Marquette and UConn all reach the Elite 8, they're going to talk about the re-emergence of the Big East. It's not the "New" Big East on a national level. It's the return of the BEast.

I dunno. Now I'm entering old man yells at clouds territory.

Get off my lawn.

worst first round in recorded human history. these higher seeds have too many 25 year old 8th year seniors.

Devin Carter is a defensive disruptor. Let go PC make the Big East 5-0

Is Landers coming back next year?

Hopkins with a nice power move. Kentucky eating off offensive rebounds

How many games do you think Edey thinks to himself "wish I had these guards"?

Purdue down at the half I wonder how many times they’ve fired their head coach
