Dikembe Dixson

9/3/1 for UIC in his first game back after his injury last year. Averaged 20 ppg, 6.5 reb/1.5 assists his first 1.5 years. He's a redshirt sophomore.

We missed on some good players. Hamidou and MAL were big losses. Oh well. I like the trajectory the program is on now -- UConn will be more fun to watch -- and KO can re-establish his reputation with recruits by putting out a fun style of play, winning, and getting some kids drafted.

Waters would have been great. Would really like to know the story there.

Bruce Brown, David Beattie and Bonzie Colson were ours for the taking and we basically passed. That hurts. The ship seems to have been righted in recruiting but we’ll be watching these mistakes blow up in our face for a few years.

Did the Huskies recruit Tomas Murphy? Jays youngest son had 15/6 to lead Northeastern over BU. He was on everyone's radar at 13 years old but seemed to fall off.

IMO Waters really screwed himself by not going to UCONN, he would have brought capacity crowds and 90's buzz back to the Civic Center and been a major home state star, and UCONN might have been a final four contender this year. Yes, he might be able to do that at LSU but I think there would have been more upside for him and his team at UCONN.

Oh well, I'll console myself by thinking there was something nefarious in his recruiting demands.

Yeah, his father told one legendary coach from a legendary program he wanted a guarantee that his son would get 20 shots a game. Have it on good authority that the coach just turned and walked out of the gym. You can't hand your team over to a player no matter how good he is. No question this kid can play - I saw him play often in 4th grade and he was dropping deep 3s back then. It will be interesting to watch his progression.

I'm sorry but still. Fook MAL and Hamidou. Colson hurts because it is on us.

Adams, MAL. Gilbert, Diallo, Lartier and any of the bigs with Polley and wow. That is what a UConn team is supposed to be

But this will be a fun team.

Mini Shabazz right in our backyard and we couldn't make it happen. This is the type that will haunt us.

he didnt want to come here from the beginning. he didnt even originally commit here

That doesn't change the fact that IMHO he's from New Haven, CT, is right now a better college guard than anyone on our roster, and due to his size will have to play 4 years in college, meaning his impact will be felt for 4 years.

And we couldn't reel him in(and seemingly committed other players over him.

Too bad. Won't enjoy watching him dominate for 4 years @ LSU

I've been super critical of our recruiting but if a New Haven kid ending up at LSU doesn't tell you all you need to know about a recruitment...
