First Day of Games (11/7/)

Ana Llanusa is a RS Senior who must've opted out of the 20-21 season. She was a Fr. in 17-18. Seems like she's been there forever.
Forgoing the 20-21 season doesn't add to anyone's eligibility (see Maya Dodson).

Llanusa got a medical hardship waiver for last season, as she played only 10 games before her season-ending injury.

I'm just happy at this point LSU has more depth this year. They were living on a prayer with 6 or 7 players trustworthy last year.

My game of the day (just based on the name): SE Missouri St. vs. St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Don't mess with the mighty Eutectics.
Love their solder! Just kidding, we can’t use eutectic solder any more, but it was awesome for sensitive electronics. ;)

Stunner?

Well i was stunned.. I saw a betting line for some WCBB games and HP was a slight favorite. Can't remember the exact line, it was less than six.

I can't help but think she's already better than Prince was or ever will be.
Or any of the trio that transferred after last season. The same could be said (regarding the trio, anyway) about two of VanSlooten's freshman companions as well. Together, the 3 scored 51 points, had 11 assists (against 4 turnovers), and 5 steals. And Northwestern is a decent program.

Change of scenery seemed to do Pili some good. 27 in her Utah debut.

Drove down I 17 for the Arizona State opener against.....the NAU Jacks! Tip in 30 minutes. I did arrive in the valley of the sun at 4pm to enjoy the Lopes of Grand Canyon put up 109 on Arizona Christian. Lopes turned Az Christian over 39 times with 30 steals So, the Lopes were successful in topping the Huskers who hit the century mark.

Great to be watching WBB!

Idk if LSU is the only one doing this but I am already pretty sick and tired of players repeatedly trying to launch passes all the way across the entire court only to go out of bounds

Do the coaches tell them not to do that? I've seen it done like 20 times between today and exhibitions and nothing has changed. SMH

Cal Baptist(CBU) wins its opener 84-76 over UC San Diego

Trinity San Antonio(Soph), remember her name, led the way with 31 points 10 rebounds 5 assists and 3 steals.
If any one watched the FIBA WBB Championships, from Australia, San Antonio played great, as an 18 year old, for Puerto Rico, on the world stage against pro's. She just turned 19 a few days ago.
Looks like Molly Miller sized up the Lancers the last 2 years and went out and got her some three-point shooters as well as ex Lancer Sydney Palma.

Hard to tell how good the Lopes are but there's a bunch of athletes on that team.

Still no Dre'Una Edwards as Baylor is hosting Lamar.

I watched SF Austin game, or at least parts of it. They are not the team we saw last year. Wide open WAC

South Dakota State faded down the stretch against Creighton. Lauren Jensen was great in the second half. Creighton’s victory against the Jacks will give UConn a better SoS.

Well, Washington put some points on the board, something they couldn't do last year. Beat Utah Tech 87-74. Not sure what that tells us. And that was with a paltry 8-32 from behind the arc. Lehigh transfer Emma Grothaus impressed me. 14 pts/11 rebounds thru Q3, then for some strange reason sat out almost the entire 4th quarter.

I should add that Baylor transfer Trinity Oliver didn't really catch my eye last year, but she led the Huskies w/ 18 tonight and looked good. Two of the Fr. guards got extended minutes--Ladine and Stines. They looked solid.

Utah Tech was pesky. Dawgs went up 14 or 15 several times, and UT always got it back to a manageable margin again.

This is a significant win for Creighton. Overcame Myah Selland's 22 points. Jensen was nothing less than amazing.

Selland is in her 6th year. She was on SDSU's 2018 Sweet 16 team as a freshman, got a waiver for her 2019-20 season-ending injury, played the "freebie" COVID year in 2020-21.

Oof, Oregon St. barely escaped with a 1 point win against Hawaii. They do have 2 potential starters out currently.

Which starters are out?

Which starters are out?
Bendu Yeaney and Timea Gardner. I'm assuming 1 or both would've started if they were available.

Let's see how she does against Tennessee and South Carolina.
I mean sadly the entire LSU squad can’t show anything because of that schedule

Reese did go 20/10 against her lone matchup vs SC last year. But she is the least of LSUs worries if they want to go far. It’s the others outside of her and Morris who need to prove themselves

Needs to work on free throws

In case I didn’t hint around enough last season there was a reason I was not upset by the transfers of Parrish, Scherr, and Watson. All the best to them … nice people. But…cohesion, respect, and camaraderie are so much part of the culture of a successful team.

I like this years group. Back to playing Oregon ball after a couple of so so years. They will be fun to watch.

Osborne might not be quite ready to take a supporting role at UCLA just yet. 20 pts/9 reb/5 assists in their season opener. Rice had 12 pts/7 assists. Have Bessoir and Maskiwech ever both been healthy at the same time? I'm thinking no.

Kiki Iriafen will be a good one for Stanford
That whole Fr. class from last year just didn't get a lot of time on the floor, I think we'll be seeing a lot more of all of them. Demetre and Bosgana both hit a pair of 3's in the first half.
