This one is going down to the wire, must be a nail biter.Great to be watching WBB!
I think that's likely.Emma-Nnopu got the start, but I could see either Nivar or Lepolo replacing her soon. Both have so much more upside.
Creighton dug in hard on defense in the last 3+ minutes. Great 3pt shooting and excellent player movement. Definitely a real top 20 team. They will be pretty tough. If they had some size.South Dakota State faded down the stretch against Creighton. Lauren Jensen was great in the second half. Creighton’s victory against the Jacks will give UConn a better SoS.
LSU was impressive. I realize the opponent was a nobody but for a first game the team chemistry was much better than I expected. IMO, LSU will be a force in WBB this season!I mean sadly the entire LSU squad can’t show anything because of that schedule
Reese did go 20/10 against her lone matchup vs SC last year. But she is the least of LSUs worries if they want to go far. It’s the others outside of her and Morris who need to prove themselves
Needs to work on free throws
Creighton’s Coach impressed me, he kept that team together in a hostile environment. Definitely, top 20 in my opinion.Creighton dug in hard on defense in the last 3+ minutes. Great 3pt shooting and excellent player movement. Definitely a real top 20 team. They will be pretty tough. If they had some size.
Let's see how she does against Tennessee and South Carolina.
She went down with an apparent knee injury, Brenda said they held her out of the second half as precaution, but waiting for further evaluation this week. A height challenged Terps roster desperately needs her to play.Saw that Diamond Miller was held out of the second half of yesterday's game. Hoping that whatever happened wasn't serious. Pulling for her to have a healthy season this year. And they have South Carolina Thursday night.

edit--NAU down 1 w/ the ball, 14 seconds left. Entertaining game. ASU is in for a long long season.
I thought everybody agreed Iowa is terrible defensively. What is this?
Masikewich has basically never been healthy. She played in parts of two games last year, and a total of nine in her career. UCLA has two posts out with injury right now and still was able to field two and three bigs at a time AND rotate them! Crazy stuff in Pauley. All of the freshmen looked pretty good (Rice/Jaquez/Iwuala/Jones/Sontag) against Cal Poly, but the return of Bessoir and the ability of Osborne to play without the ball were the real revelations. I mean, besides having an actual bench.Osborne might not be quite ready to take a supporting role at UCLA just yet. 20 pts/9 reb/5 assists in their season opener. Rice had 12 pts/7 assists. Have Bessoir and Maskiwech ever both been healthy at the same time? I'm thinking no.
Too simple of an explanation. Occam's razor?Maybe Southern is just a terrible offensive team.
Yeah I felt the same about the reasons too, Any solid specifics out there on why the last freshmen group was such a bust. I have heard some low level mumblings but nothing concrete that it was actually chemistry problem and some work ethic issues. This group just seems different in a good way. This new group compliments each other well and are fun to watch develop. I forgot how much I missed watching fun basketball. Btw, Northwestern looked gassed in the 4th quarter but Oregon does not lose alot in substitutions. In case I didn’t hint around enough last season there was a reason I was not upset by the transfers of Parrish, Scherr, and Watson. All the best to them … nice people. But…cohesion, respect, and camaraderie are so much part of the culture of a successful team.
I like this years group. Back to playing Oregon ball after a couple of so so years. They will be fun to watch.
It's unfortunate as she had a lot of potential coming out of Canada and the OSBA league here. I'm rooting for her big time. I hope she gets the opportunity to play throughout the season.Masikewich has basically never been healthy. She played in parts of two games last year, and a total of nine in her career. Last year, the "big" lineup was anytime that Anstey was in, and the small lineup was anytime Anstey was not in. (Anstey is injured currently)
Enjoyed being at UVA, Coach Mox’s 1st game. 85-59 win against GW, after being down by 4 at the half. All 5 starters scored in double figures. Played a much more up tempo game than during the TIna era. Players seemed really motivated. Totally different feel from the last few years. Sam Brunelle looked ok (10 pts, 5 boards), but seemed to have difficulty creating her own shot. Mir McLean didn’t play due to injury. She appeared to have a soft cast on her right wrist/hand.
You need gym rats and I think VanSlooten, Tsai, and Gray are. That is one difference.Yeah I felt the same about the reasons too, Any solid specifics out there on why the last freshmen group was such a bust. Can't be because that team you can't name is good, right?I thought Jackson State was supposed to be good. They got the brakes beaten offa them by 30 down in Chapel Hill.
