First Day of Games (11/7/)

My game of the day (just based on the name): SE Missouri St. vs. St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Don't mess with the mighty Eutectics.

Got the first complaining about the officiating post out of the way very early this season. I'm sure it won't be the last. I'll probably contribute some of those myself.

Well, I wasn't complaining really... just read of reports of bad officiating. I only complain about officiating when Duke plays a certain neighborhood school with light blue uniforms.

Interesting the 2 Oregon St. transfers both started today for Duke. Looks like Corosdale struggled shooting the ball but Brown didn't--6-6. Minutes were really spread out. 4 starters played less than 20 minutes, 11 players logged at least 14.

Definitely NOT the game of the day: Robert Morris over St. Francis (PA) 49-36. That's a final score. Can't imagine watching that one.

With so many transfers, I'm sure I've forgotten about a lot of them. I'm sure I knew at one point that Aubrey Joens left Iowa St., but it slipped my mind. Looked her up, she ended up with conference rival (although not for long) Oklahoma.

"probably" and "some" :D

Iowa St. had a huge lead at halftime on Cleveland St., put it on cruise control in the 2nd half. Vikings actually outscored them slightly after the break. Joens with a big game--28 pts/11 reb/5 assists. Almost all of that was in the first half. Soares w/ a double-double also--15/14 and 4 blocks. She missed some chip shots though.

History was made today in Charlotte...

My Royals first ever game as a Division I member

My Royals defeated My Falcons 81-29. You can throw out the record books when Queens and Pfeiffer meet up on the hardcourt.

*If you had bet the under of 4 hours before the throw out the record books cliche was used, you win 1/2 of a 3 day old donut from Daily Donuts

I am very excited to see UCLA take on checks notes Cal Poly! I have been waiting to see most of the players for one to two years. I expect a lot of sloppy play as freshmen, transfers, and formerly injured players mesh with Charisma Osborne in a new role (off the ball). By the end of the season this could be a really good team... but probably not just yet. Two names that no one is talking about just yet: Emily Bessoir and Dominique Onu.

I expect a win, and not much else. I will just be happy to be there.

by forcing the ball in the paint and hoping for a 1 block to 1 foul ratio to put Key on the bench.
Of course Harper can play Key and Hollingshead at the same time. You also have Puckett, Suarez, Pissott and others.

I think our resident Colorado mega fan either left or got booted at some point last year. Buffs began the post-Hollingshed era today against New Mexico St. Aggies were pesky for quite a while but CU ran away in Q4. Quay Miller with a monster game, 22 pts/17 reb. Vonleh looked decent in her debut after transferring from Arizona. NOBODY is going to push around CU's frontcourt. Those 2 started, then you have Whitaker and McLeod subbing in. That is a lot of size (not talking about height). Jody Wynn's daughter Jada got quite a bit of PT for a Fr. on a fairly veteran team, she looked solid. McLeod too. CU's recruiting class is completely unheralded, but they might have some diamonds in the rough.

I was impressed by Ashley Joens today. I just hope she can be more efficient this year like she was today. But I get the lottery potential in that she's 6'1 and scores in different ways. I just don't like the 9/27 games. She has a lot of talent around her this season. Hopefully she can have good shot selection.

Wow Oklahoma has put up 67 points at the half against Oral Roberts.

Ana Llanusa is a RS Senior who must've opted out of the 20-21 season. She was a Fr. in 17-18. Seems like she's been there forever.

67-37 at the half. Not a lot of defense going on it seems but OU has some shooters. Will be interested to see how year 2 looks for Coach Jennie.

Big 12 race should be a fun one

Who is Cayla King? Averaged around 7 ppg last year for VA Tech, she's dropped 33 today.

Hailey Van Lith was impressive for the Ville today. 28 points. Up and down performance for the Cards, but they won comfortably. Transfers Jones and Williams looked good in their debuts, Carr not so much. Cincy provided some resistance, especially in Q3.

Imma go back on my word.... that was a sorry (expletive deleted) foul called in the HPU-Davidson game.

Make that two sorry offensive charges called on my Panthers

High School teammate of Elizabeth Kitley from here in Guilford County. Solid player.... good 3-pt shooter and solid on D.

I am watching the Florida/Florida A&M game. Florida A&M is a scrappy bunch, I'm actually impressed with them.
