Final Four Tonight

This is some of the worst music I have ever heard.

Some times I think the kids are alright. Then I see this.... DOOMED.

EDIT: They are called the Imagine Dragons. Ugh..

Could be worse - they could've had Ed Sheeran.

It’s 1985 all over again. Nova just can’t miss. They shot .786 against Georgetown in the title game.

Hoping Hurley can emulate what Nova is doing as a program. Jay Wright is getting good four year program guys who can shoot and defend. They’re not ridiculously athletic but play smart, unselfish ball and can really shoot threes. Would love our program to resemble that.

They're like a team full of 3-and-D guys, plus a stud point guard. Basically, our best 2014 lineup, but bigger.

It's so gross what Villanova has become in 3 years. They went from annual 2nd round exit to plain nasty. Very jealous.

This is why Ollie had to go. Wright understands the math. Dunks and 3s. That’s it. Ollie was 180 degrees from that. He didn’t defend the 3 with enough emphasis and didn’t build a team to take them.

Nova looked like Golden State in that first half, though the shooting cooled off a bit toward the end.

Their style of play is so pretty to watch, but everyone over 50 hates it.

26 3-point attempts
7 2-point attempts.

And worse than that, we probably led the country in 2-point attempts between 15 and 20 feet, the worst shot in basketball.

Defender was nowhere near him.

Graham may have been fouled on the elbow as he was shooting. Not really the point of the post though, was it. You start the stupidest arguments on this board.

not if you are making them

It's the shot with the fewest points per possession of anywhere on the floor:
- the shooting percentage is only marginally higher than a 3, but worth 33% fewer points
- you never get fouled

If you're shooting 50% on the 18-foot 2-pointer, you're better off stepping back a few feet and shooting 40% on the 22-foot 3-pointer.

oh I get the math, but the mid range shot is almost always open

It would be nice if we had more than one guy who could hit 3’s consistently on our team. Villanova has 7. Ollie never understood this and was stuck with his traditional lineups with guys who just weren’t that talented inside to play it.

The funny thing is KO was trying to run a pro style offense, without pro caliber players. What makes it worse is it was an outdated NBA offense from 5-10 years ago. The 3 is a huge part of today’s game, having personnel not suited for it is a recipe for disaster.

Yep. Guys who step around a defender inside the line and shoot from just inside the should take a seat on the bench. We did it constantly. Better to take that 3 and let the closing defender foul you.

How right you are
But if it fits the argument they have to say it
Some teams use the mid range as a weapon - guys work on that shot because it's always open - not saying UConn had those guys

Huh, you would think older guys would appreciate the shooting. I'm 46 and love the level of shot making that you see from the good teams.

Nova is going to destroy Michigan.

And I’ll win the office pool for the second year in a row. Small consolation I guess. They are going to have to send me the trophy this year.

Just like watching blue blood Kansas blow it again. Self ain’t all that. The rock and the chalk is responsible for 85% of the recruiting I don’t hear the “ I really connected with bill” reason for committing too often.
