How do they not play remotely the same position? Mahaney may have been brought in to play PG but it’s clear he isnt one, he’s a SG, and Brea is a SG/SF so there’s more positional overlap than not. Brea would come off the bench here too and he wouldn’t have solved our backup PG problem but at least we’d have an 8 man rotation.

One is a ball handler. The other is a spot up shooter. Mahaney isn’t a pg. But in theory he’s a secondary ball handler at least. Brea would’ve solved none of our issues. I don’t think we have 1 more win with Brea.

Not getting Brea was a miss even if it wasn’t him or Mahaney.

For example, if we had Brea instead of Ross then we’d have an 8 man rotation. Still no backup PG but We’ve lost our 5 BE games by a combined 18 pts. That’s an average of 3.6 ppg. Ross is averaging 3 ppg and scored a total of 5 pts in those 5 games. Brea is averaging 11 ppg. There’s 1 more win in there with Brea on the roster, at least

And you know that how? pope wasn’t afraid of losing Robinson or Oweh. Why should Hurley have been afraid of losing ball or stew? We have a 7 man rotation for crying out loud. Whispers. There’s a few guys he had to re-recruit this offseason. One specifically who you wouldn’t wanted to have lost because of Brea. And it wasn’t a one for one. I’ve already hinted. Solo, Ross and Stewart are BEST friends. Storrs central also hinted at guys(plural) that may have left. Do with that what you will.

Remember Stewie came from Washington. Solo and Ross are like family to him away from home is what’s been said. One guy leaving creates a domino effect.
