February General CBB Discussion Thread

This article goes through every high major team's transfers this year and how they've impacted the team. Some funny comments.

BCU: Conclusion: It was over before it started.

Pitt: Conclusion: Send help.

UConn
: Specifically filling one void is exactly how Dan Hurley wants to use the portal. UConn did that swimmingly. Silas Demary Jr. has been one of the best two-way point guards in college basketball, and backup point guard Malachi Smith can be a useful weapon off the bench. UConn's point guard play was not a strength last year. It's a strength this year. Conclusion: Diagnosed the problem; solved the problem.

Fears at it again, dude is a mini Draymond, and Izzo got all indignant when May brought up Fears' dirty plays from their game this past Friday

Small plays bailed them out against Penn State earlier in the year and Rutgers a few games ago. But Minnesota is on a 7-game losing streak and 10-12 overall. Bad loss

Lol - that is dirty.
It's good to see Michigan State get exposed.
Totally - they're the same type of team we've seen forever. Gritty on defense, can't score. S16 team tops.

Agreed. I remember when Detroit players were being recruited and Derrick Coleman chose Syracuse while Calhoun landed Lyman Depriest.

Love me DePriest but imagine if Calhoun had landed DC? Clingan would have become DC2
I saw Melo on a pod and was talking his recruitment. Said he only went to cuse because he didn’t have to play defense. Lol

This is so embarrassing, Minnesota looks like a bunch of 4th graders.

I was at the scrimmage against Michigan state and wasn’t impressed. I was shocked they became a top 10 team. Obviously Izzy is a great coach but they aren’t a very talented team. They play hard and physical which I guess is enough to win games.

The Minnesota player going for the dunk at then end and missing it while the fans storm the court over beating Michigan State is a fitting end to that mess

Totally agree. Izzo will always have them playing hard defensively. I think they may be 1 in KP, but they're always totally lacking offensive skill.

BYU down 9 to OSU late first half.
I'm sure Dybantsa will score 30 in the 2nd half.

Illinois up 61-23
16 threes with 8 minutes to go. They are one of the most unique teams I've seen. Wagler and the Serbs, gigantic team that can shoot lights out. Firmly tier one at this point. 75-30 is a ridiculous score. They'll be flying up KP. Very fun watch - not sure when they play UM, but that will be the set of biggest players of the year. The UM/Duke & UM/Illinois game will be fun.

BYU is awful..,,,they will be out of the top 25 by year end. They have two decent players and that’s it.

Oklahoma State 99 BYU 92

BYU tries to just outscore you. That doesn't always work. I don't know how their kenpom defensive rating is 41. Seems it should be worse.

Gonzaga getting worked by 22.5 point underdog Portland Pilots.

Queue the "Zags are perennially overrated" opinions.
