On that last replay dude went for the ball, Cronin didn't have to embarrass him like that. If the player just stopped at midcourt and let him get the dunk Cronin probably would have took the time to cry and moan in the press conference about that too.

Despite what many on here think, I respect Mick Cronin and think he is a very good coach. That player looked like he was trying to block the shot. Maybe the follow through was a tad malicious and I can see a Flagrant 1 for that. I think Kim English should have reacted to Duncan Powell's dirty play the way Cronin did in this video clip.

Damn, talk about an awful trip to Michigan for that UCLA team. Those players and the coaching staff probably don't want to go anywhere near Michigan for a long time after two consecutive blowouts to Michigan and Michigan State.

Can you give us a quick synopsis of what they discuss with UConn? Or at least where it is in this video? Do you watch all these shows and podcasts you post? Most of us don't have that kind of time or patience. I appreciate all the content you post but it would help to have some kind of introduction rather than just post a 45 minute video.

Uconn piece is short, it's all I listened to. about 2/3 in and you'll see the UConn logo. Flaws are turnovers and FT%.

Cronin is entertaining for college basketball. I like the guy

I'd say a lob threat rim protector. It's an amazingly integral part of the offense when it's running well. There is only one Clingan, but something a bit more in that mold, like the 30 euros running around these days. AZ just let one go into the portal to UNC because they had multiples. Tarris was a get, he just doesn't fit the offensive system as well.
Who exactly were the prototypes for our offense when we were running it well?

Who exactly should we have recruited to be the new prototypes instead of the guys we currently have?

.-.
Hope it's minor. I'm a big McCasland fan and Toppin is one of those veteran college basketball players that is easy to root for.

Tech has battled frontcourt injuries all season, so I'm hoping that Toppin/Bamgboye/Moseley all have a clean bill of health come the NCAA Tournament.
Arizona State, seems like Providence, they are the joker in the deck of cards that is capable of beating anyone. They gave Arizona a tough match in Tuscon, which is Arizona's home court.

Hopefully, JT Toppin is okay. I especially hope this after what happened to Richie Saunders of BYU. Saunders being out for the rest of the season in basketball terms is a death blow to their Final Four/Title chances . That team was already too reliant on their Big 3 of Dybantsa, Wright 3rd, and Saunders.

Yeah, living here, ASU plays down to their competition and raises their level against good teams. Fans want Hurley outta here

I think I mentioned it already - a taller, lob threat rim protector profile.

One can't state that they are a recent shooting outlier away from being undefeated without another guy rushing to defend it by pulling up some first week history. They are a total portal team that took a little time to gel and then went on to curb stop in Vegas, a much more accurate picture of who they are based on current play. It's not like I'm pulling for these guys. It's just weird as there is a consistent group ready to pull out their data, guns, whatever to try and disprove why another team isn't that good.
Are you able to see that whatever you think you’re accusing this “consistent group” of, that you are guilty of the inverse? You are not objective.

You made an argument that team A is a certain variance away from being undefeated. It’s more than fair to argue the opposite. That they are a certain variance away from having 3 losses.

Neither happened. No one argument is “afraid to admit someone is good”. When you revert to that is when you become insufferable. Because it’s a strawman and doesn’t deal with the actual logic of the argument. You don’t get to choose when results begin to matter. Because of course you pick to begin when the data is in your favor.

Even with that, Penn State was not at the beginning of the season.

Michigan is not undefeated, and they shouldn’t be. And it’s not because of variance.

So how do you explain that nearly every big we've recruited doesn't fit that profile? Is Dan Hurley just forgetting what he wants in a big man? Sanogo doesn't fit that mold, Clingan barely does, Reed doesn't fit that mold, Reibe doesn't fit that mold

You gave a generalization, I'm asking for specifics.

We are only in our fourth year of running this offense, if we've already reached the point where we can claim to have had prototypical big men in this offense, who were they? I'm asking for names.

If we made a mistake in the big men we recruited for our current roster, who should we have recruited instead? Again, I'm asking for names.

Yea because Adama Sanogo wasn’t an ideal fit.

This is Ruffruff’s preference. It’s not based in logic.

Mara is likely to erase Zubi as well . . .
Haven't watched either enough times to say anything with authority, but I like Zubi's chances of he goes right at him early and often. I think the problem would be if Zubi adjusts his game to adapt to Mara. Could be a wash or a slight plus if Zubi plays well. When I've watched Zubi over the last two years, usually liked his game

We had two years of Clingan and Samson. Despite his lackings, he did the rim running like a pro and it was a big part of the offense, provided an offensive KP of 15 (higher than this season despite better personnel this year). It spaces out the defense and opens up the lane for the penetrator, and it's a very high percentage shot obviously.

Examples - Vesaar/UNC, Krivas. Just looking for bigs that can get up a bit and be a threat, have some verticality on both ends.

Samson fits the profile and he complained all last season Tarris should be starting over him and getting a lot more minutes than him. Now he's complaining about earthbound Tarris.

Call it complaining because it's how you want to perceive it. I appreciate Tarris and realize he's a big part of our potential succces in March. It's called a discussion. Do you think sports radio fills it's broadcasts by sitting around saying, they're the best? Or any sports content for that matter.

The Uconn offense when it's running well, had perfected the drive and lob which served as a threat. We've abandoned it entirely this year. You can't have everything in a 5, but it was a really effective feature for our 2 NC years, and last year.

sounds like Diop of Az State ;)
There's a ton of em out there. Florida has three of them.

Tarris is doing something right positionally this year on defense, based on his Maya ranking.

Kaufman-Renn tried to go into his chest several times last night and it didn't go well.

That stinks - their season is basically done. Wonder how that impacts his AA status this late in the year.

Also wonder how it helps anyone playing them and their metrics. They still play at ISU & BYU. BYU game will have two season ending ACL injuries. Stinks not to have these two in the dance given how good it's set to be. Both of these kids were fun to watch.

Should still be an AA, probably not 1st team now though
