February General CBB Discussion Thread

I don't even like Ollie as a head coach or person but that's ridiculous. Ollie coached them up for two seasons and did a great job of it in those two seasons. He coached them to a national championship
So how well do you know him?

Calhoun could not have won with that team. Ollie deserves the credit for that Championship.
I cannot think of any instance where a coach was more in tune or did a better job of having his finger on the pulse of his team than Ollie in the 2014 tournament.

Yes, there is quite a bit to criticize him for, but that title was a coaching masterpiece.

Great post - sometimes when I bring up prickly subjects, it’s great to see a well thought out and intelligent post that are compelling vs some call out.
It was a long post I give you that. Ollie was going through a divorce that had a significant impact on his performance. It’s over give it a rest

Just because his well thought out response was good doesn't make the call outs of your posts any less good.

You say some out there things and they're usually extreme. You need to be called out, and if everyone had enough time to respond to every single extreme post of yours, no one would have a job or family.

I hate how it played out, but I have to admit I saw the vision back in 2012. Excuse the typo.

We add nothing to the B12, unless Yormark was that enamored with NYC. I doubt a league that spans as far west at AZ cares about NYC. It's ACC or bust.
Agree, very hard to imagine B12 would see value added from our football team which is 95% of the value in conference realignment

Syracuse has had nothing to play for for weeks now, maybe they could do something useful? Yeah probably not
Ehh screw it, Duke would maybe move down 1 spot in the polls and don't put it past the committee to put in a 17-20 win Cuse team in if they were to win a single game over Duke. Duke already running away with it.

First time I’ve seen them play. Whoa. That’s an undisciplined team that looks like they couldn’t give two F’s.

Cuse down 30, looking good!

I've been reading syracusefan.com just for funzies, I don't have AS much vitriol for Cuse as some here but I don't like them, esp Boeheim. So it's nice to see them struggling after they were stepping on our necks during the 2010s.

EDIT: Almost 40!

Duke for the most part destroys the teams they should. This Cuse team is right there with Providence in KP, and ahead of Butler and G’Town. Would love a few more of these big wins

I think Houston and Iowa St would both give us fits.
Houston on a 21-6 flame throwing run. Not sure what their weakness is other than being young at the 5. Houston has a high lotto pick who is playing at another level, a first round center, a dawg at the 4 and two returning starting guards from last years NC game team. They're not deep either I suppose.

Our only advantage over these types of teams is our system. We'd have to lull these teams into a stupor and make them execute on both ends.
