Favorite Songs From Artists No Longer Alive

Jerry Garcia died at a very, very old 53 years old in 1995. He's obviously known as the founder of The Grateful Dead. But here's something completely different--Jerry playing banjo with his group called "Old and In The Way." (Jerry did start out as a bluegrass guy.)

John Lodge and Justin Hayward are the only two of the formative-era Moodies still with us. This cut prominently features Grame Edge, Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas. In Search of the Lost Chord is one of those albums I just love from start to finish. I bought it used at a church rummage sale when I was about 15.

George Harrison co-wrote this beautiful one with Ronnie Wood of the Stones:

"Good Arms vs Bad Arms" from Frightened Rabbit is a good one - Scottish band whose lead singer drove off the other day (to quote a Green Day lyric). Good song if you like hearing country type breakup song in a alt version.
