My guess is that they discussed every option after the season and worked out what was best for Evina

I think part (maybe small) of her decision may be the apparently unusually strong bond that seems to exist with her and Geno.

None of us knew exactly what kind of player or person we were getting when Evina transferred to UConn. Turns out we were getting a tremendous player and an even better person.

Evina's leadership and overall game is welcome anytime but I can't see her getting the 30 minutes a game she got this season.

She won't need to next with the depth we'll have. If she plays 22-25 mins per game, that should be enough for what we need. IMO, almost everyone's (except AE's whose I expect to go up) minutes are going to be reduced slightly to accommodate for the new depth (in particular , AD and Caroline Ducharme or SP). It may resemble '99-'00 team where most players played 20+ minutes a game because of the depth.

Knowing her minutes will be reduced. Knowing she would be a top ten pick. Knowing players are transferring everywhere. Knowing her knee will limit her pro career. She decided to come back. I am truly surprised and happy. Evidently UConn means something to her.

You can’t have enough experienced depth. The freshman obviously come in as highly regarded but you can’t make up for experience and toughness. Ecstatic that EW is back.
