ESPN on Precious Achiuwa

From your lips to God's ears.

You have a ton more faith in Carlton than I do and I think the new core is a bit young for top ten even if Precious commits but you go with the optimism Rob.
If you don't see all the pieces coming together then I can't help you. Lol. Mark it down though.

Fans have the luxury of calling for immediate fixes, consequences be damned. Staffs who are invested in actually turning around the thing know they have to take a slightly longer view. In some respects, they are looking at the ‘19 and ‘20 classes in combination.

His first real class through will be '19. And even that was gotten with one hand tied behind his back. When they are Jrs, we'll see what he's really made of. That's 4 years into his tenure.

At this time next year the media will be falling all over themselves about Carlton being the most improved player in the country

Wow. I see the potential for Carlton to improve in the off season, and have said so in a lot of threads, but that's optimistic even for me. Hope you are right Rob.

I really want an athletic 7 footer with shot blocking ability (someone who can box out would be nice too) . I miss being the tallest team on the court. If we got a 7 footer, combined with Akok, polley/Wilson, vital/bouknight/b adams, we’d have some serious height that most teams (especially AAC teams) would have trouble matching up with.

How many athletic 7 footers with shot-blocking ability and good boxout technique are still on the market? Hell, how many of those are there on the whole in any given year?

Guys like this are 5*s on potential alone much of the time. We have to be more selective about specific skills that match play style right now.

I’m remaining optimistic that we will land one of our remaining main targets Precious,Wahab and Mitchell. Maybe Kofi if he is having second thoughts as reported ?? Yes, Hurley got a late start recruiting “UCONN” to many HS players but the familiarity between Hurley and the players was already there. Throw in relationships that Moore, Young, Hunter and Brown also had in place makes for a great recruiting foundation for the UConn brand. The pitch to the recruits isn’t “help us rebuild “ its “ be part of anothe NC “. The players know the UConn name and they know that UConn is synonymous with championships ,especially in their life span. Hurley is a top notch recruiter that has landed 3 top notch recruits in a matter of months. I’m sure Gaffney, Bouknight and Akok are also doing their part in the recruiting process.

I believe AD is available next year? Assuming he opts out. If I have a say, that's my vote right there.

He wasn't recruiting the same guys to URI tho. A couple maybe. None of those bigs.

Chief has a life, but will respond to myself nevertheless. What I heard before the game was overall our recruiting is going just fine and what you read about certain guys may not be entirely true. For strategic reasons, Chief won’t go further.

that made me chuckle.
