He said basically nothing of importance but he went live with Bobby Pettiford (Louisville commit) for a while today.

Let’s give Louisville a little more credit than throwing money bags around. No cheating allegations under Mack, and he’s a good coach, done a really good job over there since Pitino. Just got beat out this time, no worries.

It’s one thing if it’s LSU, Arizona, or Kansas. But we just sound like the idiotic Syracuse fanbase every time we blame the reason we lose recruits on money.
I never assume anyone is completely clean in college sports. Can't even venture to guess if anything happened here but the past culture at Louisville could corrupt a
Tibetan monk. Hopefully Mack is staying clear of all that. Last minute change of hearts(if that is what actually happened here) always will be viewed with a bit of skepticism.

It’s a no brainer what happened it’s Louisville and Mack is a pc of crap now too. Just a gut because why would anyone go play for a so-so coach and a program that could receive more than a slap on the wrist? He gets good players he doesn’t deserve so the show is still going in Louisville. Can only hope they get the guillotine but the NCAA won’t theyre pitiful.

They have joined the Dukies on the level of “they cant lose enough”...... not because of losing a recruit but because of the obvious.

this barely registers on the rug puller scale in comparison to kofi, he set the standard under Hurley. that hurt for 6 months but i'm already over ellis. would rather have the 4* frosh Hunter anyways.

So we're still doing the "the only reason any recruit would pick another school over UConn is if they're bribing him" thing?
Absolutely agree that it is kind of silly in this case. It is Louisville so the we should be sighting "school provided hookers" as the reason.

(Disclaimer - that was just an easy reference to make about the school and it is not intended to be a shot at Ellis, who seems like a good kid and a talented player.)

I’m new here so I don’t know who or what you’re talking about. I’m just a disappointed UConn fan lashing out because I hate Louisville (for reasons beyond the recruitment of one JUCO player..)

Best thing that could of happened. We don’t win championships with JUCO transfers as our lead guard.

We need to focus on JJ Starling as our primary option for 2022. Tyrese Hunter is a solid option for 2021 recruiting.

Not attempting to stir the pot too much here... but it's a school closer to home and Mack is a more proven coach than Hurley. Objectively it makes sense even if I think the good guys can do a better job developing his talent.

Edit: just want to clarify that I love Hurley as our coach. He's a turnaround specialist and a defensive force. Just Mack hasn't ever missed the NCAAs and coaches offense really really well.

This and if we go back to the original thread on him every comment was about him being a heavy Louisville lean. Pretty impressive we got as close as we did to flipping him with only Zoom calls

Yeah, there is nothing to see here. Other schools absolutely don't pay players to attend their respective school. Especially Louisville, they are as clean as a whistle.

Do you think it's possible he picked Louisville for reasons other than cash payments? Or are you 100% certain?

Might very well be true. However, when a staff and "insiders" are extremely confident on a Sunday, then things abruptly change and are blindsided the next day, something always smells a bit fishy.

Anything is possible and in this particular situation, I have no idea. Certainly he could have picked them on merit. Equally as certain is that something could have helped persuade him to blindside our hard working staff overnight. Like you said, I don't think we need to use it as an excuse. But also don't pretend that it might not have happened. Especially with Louisville. College basketball is a business. Some follow the rules, some play in the gray area, and some do what ever the hell they want. I will let you decide which category Louisville falls under. Some schools I will give the benefit of the doubt. Others I just assume the worst. History usually repeats itself.

so basically what happened with Andre Jackson and Sanogo?

Maybe not but I’m pretty sure the winners with those was UConn and this one is Louisville. Care to check recent history? Andre Jackson started leaning out way well before the last day.......Sanogo no doubt similar but again history of the programs aren’t similar.

Next...... allow the opinions of each and move on.
