Not surprised everyone is picking Furman.Everyone picking us as a trendy upset pick to fail to make the second weekend.

Given the team's inconsistent performance, the last few weeks and struggles throughout the Big East season, it's not unreasonable. I think we as a fan base are hanging our hats on the non-conference performance, given the differences in how games are officiated in and out of conference. For the talking heads it's all about the recency bias of what they've seen/heard lately.Everyone picking us as a trendy upset pick to fail to make the second weekend.
7 of their losses were by 5pts or fewer. They have size and at least one very talented dude who wants to kill us on a personal level. Meanwhile we're mentally and (mostly) physically soft.

He's probably already whining that they have to come out east to play.Added bonus, we may have the opportunity to make Mick Cronin cry once again.
But when you cannot inbounds the ball…..I like that Michigan State is ranked 321 in forcing turnovers and 302 in turnover margin.
Can't wait to quote you so many times7 of their losses were by 5pts or fewer. They have size and at least one very talented dude who wants to kill us on a personal level. Meanwhile we're mentally and (mostly) physically soft.
They won the conference and conference tourney. A 5.Was interesting reading through the St. John's fans frustration about their seeding. Lots of folks who were resigned to UConn potentially getting the same seed as St. John's or higher if St. John's was disrespected (most seemed to be expecting a 3/4 for the Johnnies).
The responses about UConn getting a 2 despite "Losing to Marquette" while they were stuck as a 5 was interesting... they seem to have forgotten that UConn had as many wins against top-16 seeds out of conference play, as they had games (all losses) against any tournament team. (St. John's was 4-4 overall; 0-3 out of conference against tournament teams; UConn 8-3; 6-1 out of conference)
Furman is relatvely tall, but they are not big. Their centers are 6'11" 225 and 6'11" 215 compared to Reed at 6'11" 265 and Reibe at 7' 1" 260. Their frosh PG (from the Boston area) is 6' 5" 175 and a volume scorer with a 1.25 assist/TO ratio. (My guess is he will hit the portal as he was a late bloomer who didn't attract a ton of attention until late.). Other key players are 6' 4" 184, 6' 7" 220, and 6' 7" 200. I don't think their size will be an issue. Also, they are 32.7% 3 point shooting team, but 47.6% FG and a 69% FT shooting team. Also had half an eye as the Paladins defeated UNC Greensboro. No idea whether Furman’s a truly strong mid major. FWIW, one of the CBS Sports yappers mentioned the Paladins have among the tallest March Madness rosters and a quality frosh PG. Which UConn team appears Friday?
