OT: - East #2 | The Boneyard

OT: East #2

Furman, UCLA, MSU to get to the Elite 8. That is very doable for this team, a chance for battle with Duke, a 4# with St Johns, or potentially a rematch with a Kansas.

Brutal bracket compared to the west

A UConn/Duke matchup would be a dream. EZ bracket. We should cruise to the elite 8 to face either Duke or St. John’s. Let’s Go!!!

I can only speak for myself, but I am thrilled with where we landed.

We will either get it done, or we won't, but it will all be in front of us.

Added bonus, we may have the opportunity to make Mick Cronin cry once again.

Watched that Furman team win their conference tournament. Better than their resume would have you believe. They are a bit tricky have a pg who could go off for 30. Their big man shoots it at 75% can’t take them lightly.
7 of their losses were by 5pts or fewer. They have size and at least one very talented dude who wants to kill us on a personal level. Meanwhile we're mentally and (mostly) physically soft.

Also had half an eye as the Paladins defeated UNC Greensboro. No idea whether Furman’s a truly strong mid major. FWIW, one of the CBS Sports yappers mentioned the Paladins have among the tallest March Madness rosters and a quality frosh PG. Which UConn team appears Friday?

First weekend is in Philly. Anyone catch the second weekend location?

What does anyone know about Furman? I have faith the dogs will put them down emphatically, but that’s on faith alone with no familiarity of their squad.

I think it's redicoulus that the committee does everything they possibly can to F with the Big East . Putting us and St John's in the same bracket is criminal, especially since the league only landed three teams. They should be in 3 seperate brackets

I realize you have to win to get there, but it's still wrong and I doubt they do this nonsense to anyone else

Having said that, LET'S GO HUSKIES

Would be awesome to play the Redmen again

I can believe we could end up playing St. John's, but on a neutral site we'd have a shot. My expectations for this team were sky high early in the season. Now, like last year, I have no expectations and hoping for the best. The team never gelled, and except for a couple games never fired on all cylinders. Realistically, I think our season ends in the Sweet 16.

Love the region aside from SJU as the 5, do not want to see them in the Elite 8 but would be happy to see them knock off Duke. I like the potential matchups with UCLA and MSU.
Annoying with SJU again, though I'll take another revenge matchup with us as the aggressor like in Hartford.

I think the Big East was treated fairly.

Miami making it was obvious after all the kerfuffle the last few weeks, but they're only 2 spots above the record for worst team in KenPom to make it at large. In 2016, Temple was #95 (according to AI) though his archive shows them at 86. Though that may have been where they jumped up to after playing a decent team in the tournament. Ironically our own Huskies lost to them in the AAC semis.

Everyone picking us as a trendy upset pick to fail to make the second weekend.
Given the team's inconsistent performance, the last few weeks and struggles throughout the Big East season, it's not unreasonable. I think we as a fan base are hanging our hats on the non-conference performance, given the differences in how games are officiated in and out of conference. For the talking heads it's all about the recency bias of what they've seen/heard lately.
