Redus was quoted as saying "I am no stranger to the rich history of basketball here at Rutgers and I look forward to building on that legacy as we move the program forward." At lot of us know about the history of the program but don't necessarily know Rutgers--the program--well. I think Redus was just saying that as an outsider that he's familiar with the program's history.Besides the Mulkey connection, there are more LSU-Rutgers connections: Rutgers president William Tate and new athletic director Kelli Zinn both previously worked at LSU.

I've read the thread and Kim has managed to bring in top-rated talent before Redus II joined her at LSU.
Redus II claims that he knows Rutgers well. I don't know what that means, but I hope it also means knowing and being in touch with high schools and/or AAU programs that can feed into Rutgers ranging from the Newark and Paterson areas to the Jersey shore to name but a few that produce top-rate talent.

Seems like someone inside Athletic Administration is preaching the official college line that WCBB is only program not to win a conference. Hence, they'd better be putting resources behind it. If correct, there are (at least for now) three McDonald's All-Americans on that roster.

One name to consider for the Penn State job is Tammi Reiss (Rhode Island). She hasn't entertained too many openings because she, supposedly, wants to remain close to her aging parents who still live in her hometown (Eldred, NY). Well, State College, PA is technically closer to her home than South Kingstown, RI. And Tammi herself said that she wouldn't leave Rhode Island until she won an A-10 (tournament) championship. With that now accomplished...
Another possibility is associate head coach Itoro Coleman of Virginia Tech. She's done two separate five-season stints with the Nittany Lions as an assistant coach. She's also coached at Clemson (includes her only experience as a head coach--she was also a player for the Tigers under Jim Davis), Marquette, and North Carolina.
