He did a really nice job of playing defense without fouling. The offensive fouls he drew were pretty obvious but those sorts of growing pains are to be expected for a freshman big.No need for qualifiers - That size will travel, and he did a reasonably good job in space. He will be able to post, pass, finish, and rebound against anyone, and did a nice job of playing without fouling. The fouls he was called on were very marginal and as he gets a bit of a reputation as a beast, will start getting the benefit of those. Great start from DC.
I realize last night's game was against Sisters of the Poor, but a stat line for DC of 9, 7, and 4 off the bench was a great debut. Nice job, young man.
Love this kid.
This. He was about as expected. He’s no Enosch Wolf, but he’s no Olajuwon either. Not as mobile as Travis Knight, but he can play. It will be fun to watch him, and fun to watch Hurley figure out how to use him. Already we saw a 2-3 zone called out and it was quite effective. That’s the kind of wrinkle Hurley needed to add.I would say it was less the numbers and more the proverbial "eye test" that he moved and was fluid enough to look like he belonged on a college basketball court.
