If he doesn’t go to Duke that photo shoot is one hell of a troll job by this kid.

I find it hard to believe he’s sitting with those Duke trophies and as he’s doing the shoot he doesn’t already pretty much know where he’s going at that point.

I think he’s def going to Duke considering he grew up a fan and there are Duke fans in his family (side note - these supposed pockets of Duke fans in Maine is so bizarre to me).

But damn, if he’s sitting with those trophies and in his mind he’s thinking about the phone call to Hurley that he’s coming to UConn that would just be the greatest thing ever. Build a statue for the kid at Gampel just for that alone.

It’s just waaaaaay too perfect for Flagg to pick us over Duke.

Yeah and I think he might have a gf down at Wake Forest too. Sucks but all social media signs are pointing to Duke at this point. Would be a hellva turn if this swung back to us but let’s hope Hurley can keep us in it.

Actually makes it worse IMO
Seems we have 2 groups of fans living in different realities, and I have no idea who's right so I'll just spin it for both of them and they csn read whichever ones confirms their opinions

Flagg to UConn
Grant Hill is a busy man and was just scrolling Instagram too fast and saw what he thought was good news for Duke. He realized his mistake and deleted it

Flagg to Duke
Grant Hill has tons of connections to Duke, he heard from people at the visit Flagg news was coming this week and accidentally posted his congrats too soon. It's over

It could be. Or it was an honest mistake thinking he was announcing a commitment. I think it’s more likely he has some insider information. But if he knows something he would also know he shouldn’t be posting yet. So who knows?

The grandparents factor is sneaky big.
And his mother was wearing a Laettner jersey in the photo shoot. They’re a Duke family and the kid can spend one year in college living out his childhood and family dream playing in a basketball cathedral (as much as I despise it) waiting to become a multi-millionaire while shooting around with Grant or Zion if they drop in for the afternoon. Massive mountain to climb. If he’s trolling Duke nation, it’s the grandaddy of all trolls.

"Grant has tons of connections to Duke" is only relevant if Flagg has already made his decision known to Duke( thus informed connections). It may be Grant did not realize UConn had a similar PR and therefore not a confirmation of a commit.

It would be in really poor taste if Grant Hill spilled the beans that Flagg was committing to Duke. Media people can post what they hear. But someone like Hill doing it based on information he got from the Duke staff? That's lame.

Grant Hill was not spilling any beans, hahaha
I’m not even going to give him credit for knowing who Cooper Flagg was. I think he 3 beers deep glanced at it and thought some random player had recently committed.

Coopers post could very easily be misinterpreted as a commitment, so I don’t blame Grant if he heard Cooper is committing soon, and thought that was the post by mistake.

Imagine you keep your entire commitment a secret from the media over the course of several months and at the 25th hour, Grant Hill spoils your moment. I'd be so pissed lol

Now, to be fair, when did the trend of playing dress up and posting to social media become a thing?

I'm sure Hill was aware of the visit given Flagg's recruiting ranking and sees him in a full Duke uniform in front of trophies... In someone's mind, who isn't addled with the absurdities of recruiting in 2023, it's not the craziest thing to think the kid committed.

Could be.. but it just makes me laugh more in my head to think of it as some 60 year old man walking by a bunch of kids standing in line to meet Santa and him just yelling "For .. IT'S A MAN IN A SUIT! GROW UP!"

Why, that alone would make me want to commit elsewhere.

Not holding my breath, as I assume it's Duke, however.....wouldn't he have said so by now?

Seems like we are 50/50 at best but wasn’t Adama a Seton Hall commit? Hurley reeled him in over Zoom if I remember correctly.

Adama was all Kimani, and he was never a Seton Hall commit. He was a heavy lean though. Getting him committed was a big factor in Kimani's promotion.
