I believe that they can beat any of the top teams including Baylor. I also believe that they can lose to a top team, including teams that they beat earlier in the season. I think the latter is more likely now given their recent play.

No they hadn't, triad. If Stanford fell to UCLA on Sunday, Duke would be a 1-seed. (Were you being modest with your post?) And UCLA certainly made it interesting!

But I agree that after Stanford won and UConn beat Syracuse, UConn was guaranteed a 1-seed.

And I absolutely feel UConn is a lock for the FF. Their only close game against any team presently ranked below them was against St. John's. Why would UConn play worse in the NCAA tourney than they have played all season long? Especially considering all their games will be in Connecticut?

First of all, UConn will NOT be a 2-seed. But if they were, they could face any 1-seed that was in Bridgeport, as 2-seeds are typically placed using the G-curve instead of the S-curve. Using the S-curve, UConn would play the 4th 1-seed. Using the G-curve (which is based on geography), the Huskies would play whatever team is in Bridgeport because it is closest to Storrs. (How's that for a reward for earning a 1-seed?) It is this logic that has Creme placing Duke (as the best 2-seed) against Notre Dame (the 2nd 1-seed) in Norfolk. (Congrats for a great season, Muffet. You get to play Duke in the EE in an arena that will be packed with their fans.)

Baylor is the first 1-seed, so they get the closest regional, which is Oklahoma City. ND is second, so they should get the regional closest to South Bend, but that would be Bridgeport (by like 35 miles), so they will probably ship the Irish to the Norfolk regional. UConn will probably be the 3rd 1-seed and Stanford the 4th, but either way, UConn will be placed in Bridgeport and Stanford in Spokane, as that benefits both programs (and attendance!) The 2-seeds are placed using the G-curve, so first 2-seed Duke gets the regional closest to Durham, which is Norfolk. After that, it gets fuzzy because I have no idea who the next team on the S-curve is, but they would get whatever regional is closest to them. Disclaimer: There are other considerations, such as preventing teams from the same conference from being placed in the same regional (i.e., Cal shouldn't be out west because then they would be facing Stanford, etc.)

Can you honestly say that the same Connecticut team that beat Stanford in late Dec. is the same team now? For that matter is this the same team that beat Duke in January? I don't think so. You feel this thread is joke. This is clearly not the same team that destroyed Stanford, on their court, in Dec. , and Duke @ Gampel in late January, hence my poll.

And which game was it that led you to believe this? Was it the triple overtime loss, the two point loss or the six point loss? It certainly couldn't have been the big wins over ranked teams. The highest scoring team in the nation, the best defensive team in the nation? I do believe your question is a joke.... but I have a sense of humor. Please enlighten me as to why you believe they aren't the same team.

Not just ND but I think those games were very revealing of the team's weaknesses. How about if they play 40 minutes like they played in the 2nd half against Syracuse? Or maybe the 1st half against St Johns.

That is just nitpicking at the few bad 1/2's against decent teams.

You can find that with ANY team. Any.

I prefer to look at the other 95% of their performances and believe that THIS is how they will play.

Its not really nitpicking, just looking at recent performance against decent teams. In the last month they have played only three ranked teams losing 3 of the 4 games and losing the 2nd half of the other.
I don't know how the team will play in the tournament and that's partially my point. All I know is that I'm not as confident that they are a FF team as I was when the season started.

1) Duke fans arent gonna pack the arena in Norfolk..... especially on a Monday or Tuesday night.

2) I remember 2011... Duke was the highest #2 seed... and our reward was to be put in the Philadelphia Region with UCONN... which was I think was the top overall seed that year.
