Like to remain optimistic, but think the family is split on what direction to go. Like addition of Stone more than Mack - if
that even means anything.

Like for the info, not the nature of it though.

Is it possible that Stone wants to pick UConn, and the reason his dad keeps saying that a decision hasn't been made is because he wants him to reconsider and go to Wisconsin?

Maybe the family wants a reassurance of how it'll be logistically when he's at UConn, who will monitor him, his living scenario, sort of a handler, etc.

Who knows, maybe they are basically letting Uconn down easy.
By making KO fly his as s out to Wisconsin? How nice of them.

I don't think that's it. Its either a UConn lean or undecided. It does fit the split in the family scenario.

Ya there are some diks out there, but it would take a special kind of dik, to have KO fly out to wiscyland just to say thanks, but no thanks.

Here's an article that was just posted. Nothing new in there. They talk about the potential package deal with Malik Newman at UConn but I think that ship sailed a long time ago. Although with recruiting you never know. They also give a breakdown of the 4 schools left on his list and how they would fit.

Set in Stone? Five-star center closing in on decision

Since when does Diamond Stone give a duck about whether or not ESPN is going to air his decision?

I found the page by searching for what you posted, but clicking on that link doesn't work for me.

Diamond Stone Update -
He will be at Yankee Stadium Saturday to watch Army/UConn Football - come out and convince him UConn is the place for him to be!!

:-)

JK - but come on out anyways - UConn and UConn FB need the support!

Go Huskies!!

He's 17 years old. Of course he wants to be on ESPN.
It's just not at all congruent with how he's handled his recruitment thus far. I'd expect it from Newman or someone like him who clearly enjoys the spotlight

I understand your point, but I think that's more his father than him keeping things low key. He's still a kid and I'm sure he would be excited if ESPN gives him the chance to announce his decision.

I guess once everything is finalized he parents are loosening the reigns and allowing him to enjoy the spotlight a little bit.

I'm pretty sure it was announced in like June that he wanted to announce on ESPN.

I don't get why this perception is so widely believed. How exactly has he handled his recruitment differently than Newman? Stone's father talks to the media a lot (recently disputing Diamond's commitment date). As far as their twitter's go, Stone is basking in the spotlight of all the attention from students of the schools recruiting him. Lot's and lot's of retweets. He might not have his own logo but the fact he may want to announce on ESPN is the least surprising news of all time.

Newman is the complete opposite on twitter. Extremely low key about his recruitment. Hasn't even released a list yet. No retweets whatsoever from all the people begging him to go to their school. I've seen a few quotes from his dad but not much.

So I ask everyone that feels this way, why is Stone so widely believed to be (I've seen this phrase often used on here) keeping his recruitment so "close to the vest?"

PS: There is nothing wrong with wanting the spotlight!
