No more speculation for me. I have no freaking idea where this kid is going so I'm just going to wait until he tells us.

I think this race is Wisconsin's to lose. Despite the spring signing.

If Maryland had a 1% chance, they have a 2% chance now. Or better. Uconn's chances may have also gone up a bit. This kid may want assurances that Maryland is not going to become an absolute dumptser fire this season, and that Ollie will return next year.

I am highly confident Ollie is here for a good while, but outsiders don't have this perception because of all the media.

The interesting thing is that Ollie got commits from Turtle Jackson and Prince Ali during the season last year. We may have 2 2016 commits before we get 2 more 2015 commits.

I give up. Hope he commits but this is nonsense. Just pick a school.

Please, you can't be serious. It's nonsense for him to patiently take his time? There are variables here. He is actually doing the right thing. This goes for non-athletes as well. Kids with multiple options need to weigh all the variables. At the end of the day, however, they are committing to a school, and not necessarily a coach or a program.

Who would those 2016 kids be?

Wait so is he still verbally committing Friday? Because to be honest, I didn't expect him to actually sign before the spring.

Pappa [Was a Rolling] Stone says that Diamond is not signing LOI until Spring:

Diamond Stone Sign in Spring Period
Dominican High (Wisc.) center Diamond Stone will wait until the spring to sign a National Letter of Intent, his father told Inside Maryland Sports.

Stone, a 6-foot-10 senior rated the No. 1 center in 247Sports' Class of 2015 Composite rankings, is considering UConn, Maryland, Wisconsin and Oklahoma State. He officially visited all four schools this fall and seemed to be at least considering inking a National Letter of Intent during the NCAA's early signing period, which began last week and ends tomorrow. But his father, Bob Stone, told IMS this morning that won't happen.

Stone could still verbally commit before the spring period, which begins April 15, but wouldn't be officially bound to the school he chooses until he signs.

UConn is the leader in Stone's Crystal Ball with 80 percent of predictions, but his recruitment has played out quietly, with his father keeping the process a family affair.

Maryland has recruited Stone since his freshman year, with assistant Bino Ranson leading the effort. Stone took his official visit to College Park a month ago. The Terps have just one true center on the roster in sophomore Damonte Dodd and are looking for another post player to complement their talent-laden cast of perimeter players.

"I think they've got eight returning lettermen next year and we had talked about what they run but we got to see it in person. Coach Turgeon, he seemed to be in control," Bob Stone told IMS. "We talked to a lot of the kids, They all seemed like nice kids.

"It was pretty nice. We went to the football game, saw Maryland Madness, got to see the facilities and talk to all the people ... It was kind of a big campus, but kind of cozy at the same time."[/QUOT

The old man is running the show ancd he is trying to get something out of this...move on ..if he commits..great,if not ..so what..Ollie will fill the needs

Good question. The Non-key tweet thread on the CR board has to be a contender. 108 pages 3,220 replies and 282,805 views.

So maybe Diamond is waiting until his thread has the most all time posts. Everyone else has a theory I go with this one.

That would be the winner because I checked the other three major forums. The next is the B!G thread on the CR board followed by Tevin Mack thread for replies and the ACC on the CR forum for views.

We are always hungry for news, on the next great UConn player.

It seems that Diamond is losing the tug of war with his Dad. Even if he pledges, it will be a season of worry ala Hamilton, til he takes classes.

After watching that Gonzaga game last night, I wouldn't mind looking overseas to find us a Sabonis of our own if Stone doesn't pan out.

Good for him. I hope he takes his time and is 100% certain he made the right choice when he signs.

And if the fact that Amida leads us to a second straight title while guaranteeing himself a spot in the top 10 of the draft has any impact on that decision, well then, some things just can't be helped.

semi-related but didn't want to start a new topic, anybody know who the staff was looking at over the weekend in NC? Wing, Center options? It was around this time 2 years ago when the staff got heavy into Brimah so hopefully there are backup options out there.

Not sure about wings, but from what I hear they are looking around for backup options to Stone just in case he goes elsewhere. Tried to get info on which bigs stood out at the event in NC (NC Phenom 150), but doesn't sound like anyone made a big impression.
