Diaco's Demise

We have reached a tipping point - we can't afford not to fire him. This is a rank embarrassment and cannot be allowed to stand. Benedict has to have the nuts to go in to SH and the BOT and say we are finished with him. He is an joke. A very expensive joke.
Then he will have to immediately subsequently take responsibility in front of the president and the BoT for extending said joke.

I am sure that'll be discussed.

We should give Benedict until January 1 when the buyout decreases before Diaco's tenure rests squarely on this AD's shoulder. The players have given up on Bob, they've clearly tuned him out and do not believe in him. Diaco has proven he has objectively no clue what he's doing. He is not able to be a head coach, period. Let him coach the last game, it's irrelevant at this point and if we can save the ~$1.7 million of his buyout to put towards the next coach's contract so be it. But there is absolutely no reasoning behind letting Diaco coach past next week, and if Benedict can't make that move once the buyout decreases, the buck stops with him.

If the AD needs us to tell him Diaco must go, we are in big trouble. By now he knows the mood of the fan base.

That's true but it still doesn't hurt to let him know. If you're going to tweet #FireDiaco anyways you might as well include @UConnHuskyAD

If that's the case, fire him January 2 and give him 3.3 million to beat it.

Bob knows it's over it's all a matter of who blinks first, gonna be hard paying the rent with 5k in the stands every weekend

Oh for sure no point firing him before the last game and burning money necessarily. I just hope there's 0% chance he's back next year, which is why we need to make sure our discontent is palpable to Benedict.

Methinks Benedict will play this out smoothly. He's got a feel for big time college sports.

Does he have the backing of the big money donors to actually accomplish it though? He ain't in SEC Country anymore. Their boosters would have raised the full five million dollars to buy him out by halftime of the Temple Game. I'm not familiar with your big $ supporters, are they behind Bob or do they want him out?

I was thinking contact some coach before Jan 2 and line one up and then fire Diaco for less.

Worth saving the buyout money to go after a completely new offensive staff of DB's choosing? Honestly I think there's talent on this team, and even though the defense has dropped off a bit this year, I trust that with an offense that could hold the ball more than 15 minutes a game it would do wonders for the defense. I just don't know any more. Can't stand the thought of hitting the refresh button for the 3rd time in 7 years, but here we are.

Fire him now....if UConn waits they will probably miss out on the coach they want by January anyway

I say only fire him now if you know you already have the coach you want lined up. If you don't, fire him on January 1. There's no sense in wasting 1.5 million if it doesn't buy you anything...

If he had any self respect he would resign.

Short of that, there should be an unequivocal display of signs and protests from the small crowd next week inside and out demanding that he be fired. Letters to Benedict and Susan should then rain on them until they act.

We are going to swing and miss on a lot of coaches before we find one to take this program over, that 1.5MM is not at risk.

Think about this. We have 3 coaches on the staff that have been our offensive coordinator at one point. That is Idiaco!
