DePaul Post Game Thread

I don't think the pro-Duke bias is what it once was, nor the disrespect for UConn (consecutive nattys will do that). There will absolutely be some writers that keep Duke over us, but I think most will put us ahead.
Well be 4. Mark it down. I can see Purdue moving to 5, having throttled TT. Duke 6.

Have seen Millender play little or none. Small sample looks interesting. What are his drawbacks that you have seen in game situations? Obviously the staff would play him if warranted. Just curious as to what our more knowledgeable fans have to say.
That you're trying to replace a PG with a 3.9 assist to turnover ratio. Malachi Smith has been unbelievable this season

Nah, just curious. I want to see Millender play. Has nothing to do with Malachi, he just happens to be between Millender and the floor.

Happy with 12-1 at the Christmas break.. Glad to see no lingering effects for AK re: his "head bump" incident of a couple games ago . Team is in reasonably good health heading into some down time. Looks like Tarris is starting to get his mojo back.

Hurley has to be going nuts watching this team turn the ball over at the rate they do. They are a tough bunch for sure but man oh man do they turn it over. Karaban continues to be the glue that keeps them together and Reed is a monster. We did see for sure how much we need Ball on the floor moving forward. Mullins is going to be outstanding for us next year when he becomes the go to guy. The talent is certainly there for this team to compete for another title but they have lots to work on gong forward. They all play hard and make the most of the minutes that they get.

You think AP voters are watching how we won? They’ll see we covered and Duke lost. We’re moving up.
Agree. This game was on TV late on a Sunday afternoon opposite huge NFL games in December. There's no way the majority of those guys saw it live. They'll just look at the score, maybe check stats and watch a couple highlights.

Was there in person. Typically called big East game with fouls sort of even. DePaul guards were bumping and pulling Silas and Mal. Mullins getting bumped off his routes. Alex was able to fight through that for the most part.
2nd half running higher actions opened the back door.
Late when Mullins was able to get a half step on his defender he made some shots.
He fouled but mostly stayed in front of his man and switched well.
I'm seeing a continuing theme with the slo-mo replays. I really liked the replay of Bennett's and one rebound / put back, where he literally climbed over Mullins and smashed him in the head with his elbow - no call. Hilarious

Used to eat salt and vinegar potato chips before triathlons for the same reason. Pickle juice has the added advantage of hydration

Why Athletes Turn to Pickle Juice During Competition
It's not clear why pickle juice relieves cramps. Like traditional sports drinks, it contains high concentrations of sodium, which athletes lose when they sweat, and potassium, an electrolyte. But studies have suggested pickle juice actually provokes a neurological reflex that prevents muscles from cramping. "There are a lot of athletes that swear by it—they don't care exactly how it's working," says U.S. Olympic Committee senior sport dietician Alicia Glass. "As evidence-based practitioners, we would like to know exactly what it is before we start recommending it."

Tiafoe isn't the only athlete quaffing pickle juice during competition. New Jersey Devils winger Blake Coleman started drinking it at Miami (Ohio), and he's continued guzzling it in the NHL. He readies two eight-ounce bottles of P20 pickle juice—his own signature line—before every game. "Gatorades, electrolyte packets—I've tried it all," he says. "Pickle juice is the one thing that allows me to not cramp through an entire game..."
Also adds zing to deviled egg filling.

The only thing i found disappointing, vesides the turnocers, is that Elezaj had a better statine in one minute than Reibe in 12. Was Eric sick?

How is Mullins going to do that when he will be playing in the NBA? He is a one and done player. Do not let a couple rough games fool you.

I enjoyed that 3 pointer from the corner. Haven't seen a rainbow arc like that since Clay Johnson. He's getting pushed around a little (welcome to Big East officiating) but he will be fine. I wish he could stay for another year (without being hurt). He does need to get stronger. Scouts will not lose him if he is available though. He's got DNA.

This post at least makes sense to me. Most of us can see the obvious talent. Maybe they draft him for his future potential just to have him. Physically right now he is not close.

The team needs everybody to get healthy so the roles and rotations can get clearly defined for the offense to gel. There has been too much instability. In the meantime, the defense has been stellar which is key for making a deep run in March.
