That's not the point. He's said himself that he wants to bring young coaches in to teach/mentor them.Absolutely chip and rich rod were. People on here think Mora can’t multi task.

Yeah sure that's exactly what I said. No nuance at all. If you want to use that logic then he's "micromanaging" the defense already. So essentially you want a Diaco micro manager type
Or, he is already at UConn like John Pagano, former DC for Chargers and Raiders. It’s just odd.
The only logical explanation for the D coordinator search to go on this long is that he’s coaching in the Super Bowl.
Beyond that we have these other options.
1. The comment a few months back was made in jest
2. They can’t fund the role
3. They haven’t found the right fit/no one we want for the role actually wants the role
4. Candidate was waiting until after NLI day to pass.
It’s just odd
Is he on staff still?Or, he is already at UConn like John Pagano, former DC for Chargers and Raiders.
this assessment makes sense, if indeed Pagano's been the guy all along.. and if the case, it's probably a good thing for us... we can't afford to be the 4th or 5th option late in the hiring process for guys looking for a seat at the table that have experience. We need a guy who's either here now and wants to be here...Mora mentioned Pagano was here for spring practice last year. Don't know what if any contract length is accorded for his type of position, maybe waiting for the contract year to end then announce before start of spring practice?
