1-14, though duke going to win the late one.The SEC just shellacked the ACC. If it's happening, it's happening, as many already suspected. Not much we can do about it.
I was out to lunch thought it started todayUConn, Nova, Providence, and Creighton were all at home.
yes.The ACC ended up with a 2-14 record against the SEC. How is that possible for a major conference to put up that kind of performance against another major conference? Just random probability should put the floor around 4 wins, with a smattering of close games. Through tonight, I think the SEC is 26-3 against the ACC this year, and 18 of those wins were by double digits.
The SEC is 4-3 against the Big East, and 3 of those 4 wins were by 4 points or less.
Has the ACC fallen that far?

The price of expansion. I wonder if the ACC office ever wonders why they took half the teams they’ve taken over the last 20 or so years. The ACC ended up with a 2-14 record against the SEC. If the ACC thought about this 1% as much as I have, I'd be shocked. The ACC braintrust is DOA.The price of expansion. I wonder if the ACC office ever wonders why they took half the teams they’ve taken over the last 20 or so years.

cal and stanford were a "good fit" with their significantly underperforming football and basketball programsThe price of expansion. I wonder if the ACC office ever wonders why they took half the teams they’ve taken over the last 20 or so years.
They stayed roughly within their traditional geographic area (till this year) while others used their big media contracts to get better teams. The price of expansion. I wonder if the ACC office ever wonders why they took half the teams they’ve taken over the last 20 or so years.

It won’t be Hurley…kind of weird seeing Reed and Johnson out there togetherCan someone tell Dusty May you can’t play 2 bigs together.
There's been a different shift nobody is talking about. Back when the early Big East started the truly big recruiting areas were NY/NJ, DC & Baltimore, Philly, Chicago, Detroit, LA. Now the talent is often in the same place as the football talent. The other factor is that the SEC/ACC schools have become more popular for northern kids (this is true outside of athletes as well). Add in the money factor and it's a recipe for success. The ACC should be able to benefit as well, but they haven't.SEC has probably 12 teams that can make the NCAA tournament. For a football conference they are playing pretty good basketball this year.

I will not shed a tear if the ACC blows up in realignment down the road. The ACC’s primary expansion strategy is to make BCU happy by not taking UConn. Not working out that well for the ACC.
Folks have gotta stop with this notion that the ACC is unhappy. They are in the P4. Two conferences that didn’t adapt aren’t.The price of expansion. I wonder if the ACC office ever wonders why they took half the teams they’ve taken over the last 20 or so year
But it did elevate the conference's academic profile. Maybe they were trying to compete with the Ivy League.cal and stanford were a "good fit" with their significantly underperforming football and basketball programs

Yes, they really suck. It’s why they took a bunch of time last year to trick people like you into believing the actual issue was other conferences manipulating the metrics. That’s a way better narrative for them than their conference being terrible with a bunch of meh coaches. The ACC ended up with a 2-14 record against the SEC. The actual shift is the SEC has a bunch of great coaches now and the ACC doesn’t.There's been a different shift nobody is talking about. It was much less fun when #2 lost 3 times in 3 days.Fun crazy week with #1, #2, #4, #5, #8, #11, #14, #15, #18, #20 losing already.
This surprised me a lot, too. I remember him being on the top of the list for portal transfers. Looking at his game log you can see he barely gets any minutes when UNC plays better competition, that doesn't mean American University where he got 21 minutes.Cade Tyson was a big fish in the portal and he's barely playing for UNC, I thought he would have a bigger role
