I wonder if this guy has any idea how much tax he is about to pay. How much more the cost of living is compared to Alabama. He is in for a rude awakening when he gets that first paycheck, buys a home, pays property tax.

Yeah but he won't have to deal with southerners anymore. Well worth the cost.

I doubt he'll starve

In an attempt to kick start the men into a run which will go down in Husky lore as well as a welcome to the new AD I will take that wonderful looking human being with a rack to one who was required to hit the rack many moons ago. Hope it works for all.

Eggs Benedict for all.

Miss her already:eek:

You get a non-like for this poor poster decision-making and low poster-IQ on this call.

Wish our players were as committed

Just keep in mind, if you want good pizza, you pay high taxes. There is no good pizza in low tax states.

Ironic that it's taxes that fund the University he is joining.

Access to professional dentistry services wins.

Ironic that you don't do research to see that I am right. BTW taxes fund Auburn too but they are lower taxes.

Stay classy.

Where in my post did I say that I thought that? lol
I'm all for the hire from what I've read. I'm just saying, doesn't it feel like a guy who isn't well-known, and by taking this job, depending on how well he performs, will raise his national profile? I feel the same way about Bob Diaco. I love the hire, but it feels like someone who is lining up for a bigger job in the not-too-distant future. As long as they elevate this program before they leave, it's a successful hire.

Anybody who isn't lining up for bigger things is a has-been who is playing out the string for a paycheck...exactly like PP. If a young guy has to do amazing things to get noticed, I want him to do those amazing things for UConn.

I love this place... we hire a new AD and there's a post about a revolutionary war general, high taxes in CT, and eggs. It's like most of you have no idea what college sports are, how the game of basketball actually works, the fact that UConn is a public institution (socialism!), or the qualifications that an excellent AD should have. ;)

As for me... the man built the biggest scoreboard in the entire SEC. If that's not enough to convince you that this is an awesome hire... I don't know what is. :D

First order of biz for Benedict is to get rid of co-ed first night. It's obviously keeping us from a better conference

I don't see it. The problem starts on the Husky Run. They expend so much energy preparing for that run, they are not ready for the season. I'd recommend they better use all the time they spend practicing long distance running on outside shooting instead.

You don't think everyone knows where costs of living are higher?

What kind of clown goes into a thread about the hiring of a new AD and launches into taxes and costs of living.

You might notice successful people don't make every decision based on cost of living - because they can more than make up the difference in their incomes

It's people who add no marginal value that have to cry about property taxes.

Do the research.

I know and its equally amazing we hang out here. . . .

When did the humor around here drop to hack level jokes about eggs and the revolutionary war?

These aren't even G5 level jokes.

Is that why companies leave the USA for Ireland? Or companies leave CT? Or the fact CT is losing residents at a record pace?

What kind of clown can't realize a joke on the internet about the stark contrasts between Alabama and Connecticut. @whaler11 that is who. I will do you one better. It's people that display anger and aggression on the internet that are obviously unhappy people in real life.

I think Benedict will be successful.

I've got some advice for you ...

Learn when to stop. Just move on. It was a stupid point you made. The correct view is Dave Benedict is now HEAD of a Brand Program in College Sports. Well paid. He won't give a frig about Taxes. And whaler11 is right ... It's you marginal thinkers that come with this take.

No. Why is it that the following 5 posts from the original get the joke and offer great replies. Not dealing with southerners or great pizza. The guys with thousands of posts cry and take things so seriously and must personally attack someone. Lighten up. High costs of living in CT/NE has been a point of pride and long running joke for longer than this board has been around.
