Totally agree on Karaban. He becomes invisible at times and doesn't seems almost lost and not involved. Tough way to describe him, as I love him as a player, but not sure why he seems to disappear more this year. Hopefully, he figures it out and goes on a big scoring run.

He only really dribbles when his defender blitzes out. Probably a design of our offense, but would really love to see him try to get to the rim in the half court more.

It was like they had magnets and the ball was metal. The rebounds just bounced their way and they were unconscious with their field goal shots.

There's nothing to gain from this game, no teachable moment for Hurley. You just get on the bus and go home and you don't ever talk about it.

Creighton gave Castle the treatment Ajax was getting last January. Credit Coach Mac for coming up with the plan. Kalk in the paint shut everything else down.

Bad loss, but not totally unexpected. Team just looked very slow on defense - easily the worst defensive effort of the year. Got behind early, and then just couldnt dig out of a big hole.

Need to rebound at home the next 2 games if they want to win the season BE Title!

Yes, Newton kept them in the game, but he was also part of the problem: he was 10-21 and 2-8 from 3 and had 2 TOs. We only played 7 players most of the game. Stewart played only 6 mins and Solo 1 min at the end of the game. Johnson played 12 mins, had 0 pts, 0 Rebounds, 1 Assist and 4 fouls....a very unsatisfactory effort. Cam and AK combined for 13 pts on 15 shots. And DC sat for most of the 1st half because of committing 2 fouls in the 1sf 2 minutes of the game. Worst game of the season. The fun continues on Sat night... Hope that they crush 'Nova.

Complaining about 48% shooting and 2 turnovers in 36 mins? My lord…

Besides the disparity in 3s and the disappearing act of Cam and AK what really stands out is the 8 assists on 28 baskets. We were completely taken out of our offense. That really hasn’t happened very often this year.

To be fair, Ashworth was in Cam's short the whole game and Cam could not get an open look. Whoever guarded AK did the same thing. Advantage Creighton on those two.

They were wide open a lot. We were slow to rotate, over helped and didn’t fight thru screens.

That's the biggest issue. Teams can (and will) find ways to shut down our shooters but there's no excuse for playing that kind of perimeter D. Johnson also had multiple defensive brain farts inside and out. Hurley's going to be apoplectic about that defensive effort.

What was a little concerning also was that Clingan seemed to be playing through pain. I hope he is alright. We can't lose him.

Losing the #1 BE regular season title and #1 seed in the BE Tournament has now become a real possibility. I thought we'd win a close game tonight, (although I was very nervous after the amazing win vs Marquette and national adulation that came) and thought our one remaining loss would be at Marquette in a revenge game. Now Marquette could be a loss and we'll need a win at.....gulp.....Providence....to lock up the Big East regular season title and top seed in the BE Tournament. Lots of work left to do....

I agree. I did find it weird that cam wasn’t even trying to take him off dribble or back him down and hit him with some of his patented head fakes or step thru’s—Strange.

I agree on the Ashworth defense, but Cam has been in that situation before and puts the ball on the deck and is able to create shots inside the paint. He just seemed uncharacteristically flustered, and perhaps Kalkbrenner's presence had something to do with that. I expect him to show up in a big way on Saturday.

We were going to lose by 28 and Newton got it down to 10 by himself. He wasn't a part of any problem.

Ashworth finally adjusting to this level of play is huge for them. That spread floor is impossible to guard when nobody can miss. Strange Newtons 2 best games this season came in loses, that must sting.

Cam is an elite mid range scorer and had a ton of opportunities to pull up with momentum when they were running him off the line but was too hesitant. When we played them at Gampel Cam and Tristen lit them up from mid range and made them adjust. Overall Creighton probably beats 99.9% of teams shooting like that tonight so learn from it and move on. On to Nova.

Small enough to maneuver around screens. Quick enough to recover and prevent open shots. Spencer not tall or athletic enough to just rise and shoot over him.
