He told you that over a beer? This is all I needed to know. I was pretty sure but now it's obvious.Hurley would not have had him in any sooner.

The cuse game at msg was pretty big at the time if I recall. It is kind of funny how hurleys biggest win of his career had him sitting in the locker room for more than half the game and then we follow it up with this performance.
Even ASU beat Creighton in Omaha.... Just sayin'....
Because UConn was picked 2nd in the conference, is the most athletic team in the conference, and is a veteran team. Creighton was picked 8th in the conference, is not very athletic, replaced their whole team outside of Kalkrenner and O'Connell, and they didn't have their Big East freshman of the year point guard.More entitlement. Why should we be MUCH better than Creighton? 2 years ago we were a middling AAC team. Eventually in the long run yeah, we should be better than Creighton. Some teams give you more headaches than others for a variety of reasons. Marquette probably feels the same about us this year. That's how sports work sometimes.
….againWell Jackson and Whaley just entered the chat.
the thing is it’s not a horrible match up. They just had a much better game plan.
Getting our first win against them will be like winning a superbowl. Can’t waitO-5 no excuses
A $1 beer with Steve Lavin. Thank youHe told you that over a beer? This is all I needed to know. I was pretty sure but now it's obvious.
Exactly. We beat Auburn who beat Kentucky so we are better than both of them but worse than Arizona St. Yeah, that tracks. So soft after a loss..Just sayin what? ASU is better than UConn? Then say that.
Revenge Tour is Revenge Tour. We got everyone else.We just lost to a tournament team on the road. After knocking off multiple quality teams prior. Yet Hurley sucks. We need some perspective. We’re still a really good, flawed team. The same team we were after Nova. Breathe.
And it's not like we played well and lost a hard fought game. We looked like crap. It's a recurring problem. If we're not expecting to beat Creighton on the road without their point guard (freshman of the year in Big East) then there's a bit of a problem. I get that they were playing for their lives to get their tournament bid but that's a team with all new players except for Kalkbrenner and O'Connell. We should all expect to win that game.
Nope... ASU is nowhere near as good as UConn, but they were able to beat Creighton, and we were not.... Pretty simple really.... Not supprisingly it went right over your head....Just sayin what? ASU is better than UConn? Then say that.
I thought he was looking away… but it’s happened before so it isn’t just on Sanogo. We just need a better IQ out there.Bingo. Sanogo stood there just over half court and watched the screen develop. I was waiting for him to scream out to Hawk. Nothing. Players call out screens all the time. Gotta do better to protect your teammate.

We shot 27% from 3 in a game we lost by 2.Our shooting is fine, it certainly isn't why we lost.
Who cares who was picked where. These predictions rarely are true to form and even moreso with the transfer portal. That's preseason and then they throw the ball up and start playing games. Providence has a better record than all of them and they weren't picked high. Goes to show you how little they mean so using them as evidence of some kind of failure is flimsy. Athleticism without skill means very little. Our two best players, Cole and Sanogo are not even super athletic.Because UConn was picked 2nd in the conference, is the most athletic team in the conference, and is a veteran team. Creighton was picked 8th in the conference, is not very athletic, replaced their whole team outside of Kalkrenner and O'Connell, and they didn't have their Big East freshman of the year point guard.
Marquette was picked 9th in the Big East this year.
What does ASU have anything to do with us? Congrats on dropping a random fact in the convo…Nope... ASU is nowhere near as good as UConn, but they were able to beat Creighton, and we were not.... Pretty simple really.... Not supprisingly it went right over your head....
Over the last 24 minutes of the game we outscored them 44-30.And it's not like we played well and lost a hard fought game. We looked like crap. It's a recurring problem.
CoolOver the last 24 minutes of the game we outscored them 44-30.
Spot on assessment. No defensive coaching adjustment by UCONN in the second half had a significant impact on the outcome of the game. Creighton just kept baiting Sanogo when he was hedging outside to give Kalk a clear pathway to the basket or allow Kalk to isolate one-on-one against Adama with no defensive help. Even when Sanogo did hold well defensively against Kalk, no one ever doubled down to tie Kalk up. Other Uconn defenders just watched Sanogo get shot over. And when it came to game-winning time (the last 3 minutes or so), Andre just threw up some long distance shots. He really needs better shooting technique. Sadly, this was a waste of a good comeback on the road after Creighton had an unconscious hot shooting first half. That's two games in a row where Creighton got a long distance 3-point bank shot. This was as bad or worse than anything I've seen this year. It wasn't even creative offense or looks. They just kept goading Sanogo into the switch or hedge and then Kalk would slip to the basket. There was zero adjustment to it all second half.
We may have one more at them this year.Revenge Tour is Revenge Tour. We got everyone else.
If by recurring problem , you mean lose basketball games, you should see the other 357 teams and their records. And it's not like we played well and lost a hard fought game. We looked like crap. It's a recurring problem.
We lost because Creighton curb stomped us in the first 16 minutes of the game and because Kalbrenner curb stomped us in the last 16 minutes of the game.We shot 27% from 3 in a game we lost by 2.
Dude, you do know we don't play Creighton every game right?. If we don't play them at MSG it's a next year problem. We just won 5 in a row and you're acting like Hurley is the pilot of the Hindenburg.O-5, not O-2 or 0-3, yes this is a problem.
WeCool
Yeah I guess if we play them in finals. We may have one more at them this year.
Don't twist this. We should not be 0-5 against Creighton. You think Hurley is a good coach and I don't think he is that good of a coach. We are not playing them at MSG so it will go into next season. McDermott is a better coach and I don't think it's even close. UConn has better talent than Creighton and I don't think that's even close.Dude, you do know we don't play Creighton every game right?. If we don't play them at MSG it's a next year problem. We just won 5 in a row and you're acting like Hurley is the pilot of the Hindenburg.
We are 0-2. It’s an entirely separate conversation. Combining years where teams makeups are completely different is looking for a reason to be outraged. And this year?
And Sanogo wasn’t picked on the all big east team. Pre season predictions are pointless at this point. Creighton has proven they’re a formidable teamBecause UConn was picked 2nd in the conference, is the most athletic team in the conference, and is a veteran team. Creighton was picked 8th in the conference, is not very athletic, replaced their whole team outside of Kalkrenner and O'Connell, and they didn't have their Big East freshman of the year point guard.
