COVID Vaccine Thread, the Sequel

I can't believe how tough some people are having getting the vaccination. That sucks. I am in North Florida and I just pre-registered on their website and the weekend before my age group was made eligible (40+), they called me and scheduled for that Monday at the local site. In and out in 30 minutes (15 being the wait after the shot). Mine was Pfizer shot. No issues other than a sore arm the day after.

Good luck to all still looking.

Woke up at 4:30 for a bio break. Checked vaccines. Nothing. Nothing at 5:00, 5:40 or 6:00 either.
Did you call that number I gave you? Just play computer illiterate. Sometimes it’s just easier talking to a human.

I also think you get better success putting in a solid fifteen minutes to an hour of trying a various method at any given time than to keep trying one method a few times sporadically.

Not yet. As a partly deaf person, the phone lands somewhere behind smoke signals as a communication device for me. But I'll resort to it if needed. I suspect that the newly enlarged group of eligible people on Monday (including me) caused a surge in demand vs capacity. I did pre-register a week ago at the MA Vax site for the large mass vax locations like Gillette.

Got first Pfizer shot Monday. No side effects outside of a slightly sore shoulder yesterday.

Early morning I tried CVS, Walgreens, Osco/Shaws/Albertsons, Walmart and all the aggregation sites both MA and third party. I'm already pre-signed up for the big mass vax sites, there is no way to seek an appointment, they notify you when one is available. Not sure what else I can try.

Just fyi I was able schedule all 3 of my kids today through the 877 number, there is a mass event at Rentschler on 4/27 that just started taking appointments today.

I got my first Moderna yesterday morning. My arm is slightly sore at the injection site but no other symptoms.

I'm only going by what worked in CT. Seems MA must be doing it much differently then.

Sign up on line at MyCare Trinity Health. There were plenty of appointments available during first week of 16+ eligibility in Hartford area.

He's in Massachusetts.

That makes sense based on the findings in here. I'd say the midnight to 2am was Pacific Time, but that wouldn't make sense for a Rhode Island company. No surprise that a giant company would do something different in practice than their stated plan! ;o)

I also just found out that the person was only giving me info they heard outside the company in trying to schedule his own shot, so my info was totally hearsay and useless!

My second moderna dose was on Monday midday and it kicked my ass (but I also didn't take any meds). Was fine for 8-10 hours before I got incredibly achy, low grade fever just before bedtime Monday. Only got a couple of hours of sleep Monday night. Tuesday was by and large a lost day (but probably could've been made more tolerable if I had taken advil) with a crushing headache and lots of fatigue. Woke up this (Wednesday) morning with the fever having broken, the last remnants of the headache and was able to work. Arm pain isn't even that bad.

I signed up with the state... nothing. Signed up with a regional hospital system... still nothing.

A friend called me to let me know a drug store had Pfizer shots. I called them and they sure come on by. I downloaded their forms filled them out copied my license and my insurance card, pulled up they looked at the paperwork stabbed my arm through the car window and sent me on my way. Easy peasy.

I too waited in my car for my shot, then ran out of gas the next day. Side effects aren't the same for everyone.

Well the state emailed me that I will get my link to schedule an appointment at a mass vax site tomorrow. I assume that will be Gillette stadium. I sure hope it is. That would be Moderna. No idea how far out it will be.

Got my second does of Moderna last Friday.. Marshmallow brain, chills, soreness, didn't feel so hot on Saturday and Sunday but kept chugging. Felt fine Monday and Tuesday but it all came back yesterday in the afternoon and I'm actually taking today off school and I NEVER take days off from school.

My wife’s school district in CT got shots on Tuesday this week. They ended up with a remote day today because FORTY SEVEN called in sick still feeling effects of the shot. Will see what happens with school tomorrow. It was Moderna shot

Got my 2nd shot of Moderna yesterday afternoon. No side effects so far (knocking on wood!). Hoping it stays that way.

Getting my first today at a Walgreens, appointment didn't say what I'm getting.

Got my appointment for the 17th at Gillette Stadium. Glad it’s Saturday. Wife was given a lousy midweek one in Boston at Hynes. She is going to cancel and try again. We live near the stadium, no idea why they did that. People in Boston were bitching about traveling to Gillette.

Any superintendent with half a brain cell called a remote/sick day after the teachers got shots. That's a no-brainer.
