Corey Floyd visiting Providence

If you read the providence board they really want no part of Floyd. They don’t seem to think they are actually pursuing him but also think that MAL is proof that Floyd would also suck there. Pretty rock solid logic if you ask me.

Also seem to think Breed playing big minutes on your team is a good thing lol.

Would you consider the perceived tenor of this board as an accurate gauge of anything to do with our program or its plans?

Yeah I should’ve been clearer that I solely meant their board is a bunch of idiots in a way that is refreshing after a week of sifting through that castle thread.

And also that there’s no one on there that can confirm he’s on campus (referred to as a boneyard rumor that someone implied was started intentionally to cause harm to their program).

We have a pay board with about 150 or so fans. They would disagree with this. Our free board has gotten many multi-time banned posters. It’s a mess. 247 for all their CBS money can’t seem to figure out how to ban IP’s.

FWIW my PC friend just told me he thinks Breed is gonna portal since he removed mention of PC from his social accounts. someone who cares more would have to confirm @FriarJ

if PC plays a 3 G lineup w/ Bynum, Carter, and Locke then floyd could get a lot of PT as the first G off the bench. that would make more sense.
I wish I knew if it was true. Breed is a very tough kid so I doubt he cuts and runs but of course with what we have been doing in the Portal, who knows?

Ballpark figure, how many boards are you regularly posting on???

Just my 2 cents. If he was clamoring to be activated, as reported, staff should have just activated him. We needed the guard depth and very few kids stay in one place 5 years.
Just my 2 cents. If thats why he left, let him go.

3, not a ballpark although I have to quit the leach field. The name speaks for itself

TBH I hope he does land at PC. Will be a fun storyline over the next few years.

Only in the Boneyard.
The incident almost single handedly resulted in a grudge match game being scheduled a few years back.

The staff should let a 17 year old kid force their hand into playing them after they went out of their way to accommodate him a year early at his wishes? You think if he could have actually contributed Dan Hurley and the entire staff wouldn’t have given him some time?

Floyd got a lot of hype on here because he’s a bigger guard with a cool headband who played on a good AAU team. I wish him health and happiness and all that but I think the loss is perplexing because of the circumstances but not a huge deal in the long run because he’s not that great.

So a poster with one message bring a tweet from an account @noliarsgofriars with no following and this forum is going berserk. I'll wait until there is confirmation from a reliable source about CFJ going to PC before weighing in. Seems like a great troll job is made at the expense of The Boneyard!!
Well yeah, and there was a first post ever about Clingan also. This board tends to jump at the first pitch.

It’s amazing how much the narrative can change when the transfers in happen before the transfers out.
hopefully everyone learned their lesson. a couple transfers every offseason is not a reason to panic and doubt and criticize. it should be expected.

Couldn’t get playing time with Syracuse and transferred, couldn’t get playing time with Providence and transferred. Needs to lower his expectations and try Fordham or UMass.
i was gonna say BCU

There's no such term as "being activated." You don't file papers to redshirt with anyone at the beginning of the season. If you don't play (or if you play a little and then get hurt), then you get an extra year of eligibility. The point being, all that had to be done was tell him to take his warmups off and report in. Shockingly, if Hurley thought that he could have helped the club in a material way and Floyd was willing to spend a year of eligibilty, HE WOULD HAVE PLAYED.

Hurley is on record saying Floyd would have helped. Just a strange situation where I'm sure the Diggins situation didn't help.

I'm still cautiously optimistic that the portal will be a net positive. I liked all 4 kids who transferred, but they have to do what's right for them. Hopefully it cleared the way for even better talent to come in.

As said by Huskybass, Hurley already said he would have helped. But when did Hurley realize that? Probably too late to waste the redshirt.

Floyd tried to convince the staff to allow him to play a few times this season, but Hurley & Co. never caved, despite Hurley admitting: “If Corey had played, he would have helped us.”

"If Corey was available and wasn't a red-shirt, he would have played this year because he's physical, he's got great pedigree and size," Hurley said. "He doesn't have anything that's really deficient. He's an athlete, well-rounded, and he's still young."

Still just such a bizarre quote.

If he transfers to UMass I can’t imagine that would go over well with Diggins

given the benefit of hindsight this can be interpreted as puffery. coaches say a lot of crap to lift their players up.

regardless, even if it was true, we appear to be on the verge of bringing in 2 more Gs that would have pushed floyd down to at least the 5th G in the rotation and 6th if you include jackson, which i do, so get over it already!
