Coppin State Game Thread

We have a tendency to not stop what an opposing player does best !! Ex.. this Morgan kid shoots damn near all his shots from 3 he’s made 5-6 which is all 3’s 17 easy points .. that’s the only thing I get frustrated about this team ... blame Ollie blame Ollie No blame the players on the court !! No reason we leaving shooters wide open , can’t blame Ollie for these turnovers either 11 against a coppin state team who’s not taller than my 8 yr old son lol get the ball to the rim .. DO please work on ya post moves I swear I seen him bounced the ball with two hands and didn’t go anywhere , this game should be lob city not a 4 point lead at halftime

Again giving up career highs to garbage players. Morgan averaging 5 points a game had 17 at the half, 5/6 from 3.

UConn's talent is non existent. It's not the program we knew. KO has shown he cannot recruit well enough to overcome the suffocating effect of CR.

It’s not the talent. It’s the coaching. We have the talent to win this game by 40. What type of defense leaves 3 point shots open?

How do we manage to let the opposing guard shoot 112% from the field every game?

Even so, they are bigger, better athletes and KO is getting nothing out of them.

I'm noticing that Anderson only looks to shoot when he dribbling on fast breaks.

Many of you say the problem is talent, that we're not getting 4 and 5 star recruits. Or that Ollie can't coach. I think it's that our "stars" are selfish clueless players who have no idea how to play a team game, and can't seem to learn. That's why Ollie is making faces on the bench. They've been taught, yet they haven't learned. There's a reason they leave guys open for 3's all the time, and it isn't because Ollie doesn't know how they should be playing defense. And there's a reason our offense lacks assists. It's one-on-one or bust, and bust is winning.

Yes, I'm talking about Adams and Larrier.

By the way, BC just beat Duke with no 5 stars on the roster. Ky Bowman and Jerome Robinson? No North Carolina offers.

CHARLOTTE — The two guards many rank as the top backcourt tandem in ACC basketball this season both come from North Carolina.

They just don’t play for a North Carolina school.

Overlooked by the highest profile teams in their home state, including their childhood favorite UNC, Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman had to travel to the farthest reaches of the conference’s geographic footprint to make a name for themselves and realize their dream of ACC stardom.
But Adams and Larrier also have the most talent, so Ollie is stuck.

If you need any further indictment of Ollie this 1st half should do it. Either he can’t recruit anything better than NEC level players or he can’t get anyone to buy into his system. Either way it is a total disaster. And if we ever lose to this team he should seriously be escorted to the edge of campus and never allowed back again

Sums it up.

It’s a combination of talent, coaching and effort. We certainly have more talent than Coppin but that’s not saying much

So maybe it was the selfishness of some of the leading players that drove three players to transfer? They didn't want to play with the "stars" of this team?

It’s funny, when the players execute the offense the way Ollie wants the offense to run, and the player move without the ball, they actually get good looks at the hoop.
