Cooper Flagg Injury

That Sucks The Kid Mero GIF by Desus & Mero

You never want to wish an injury on anyone, especially a generational talent like him. Nevertheless, it does make Duke a little less intimidating if he is unable to play in the tournament.

Best case scenario is that he can comeback in the 2nd round of the NCAAT. Duke shoudn't need him against the #16 seed.

High ankle sprain similar to Liam’s, or a low ankle sprain of a milder nature?

Looked like a low ankle sprain but he came down with all his weight on it from above the rim. Would have to think at least a couple weeks

Posted the video of it in another thread - low ankle, but boy did he bend it. Impossible to know the severity of it right now as the inflammation in the next 24 hours is going to offer a better sign. He's going to feel this one in the morning.

Watch the Duke title odds in Vegas. Vegas always knows.
I saw somewhere they went from +300 to +700.

If the Tourney seeds were determined by the Football Committee, Duke would be downgraded to a 3 or 4 seed. Flag is virtually their whole team.

I'd actually rather play Duke with Flagg if he's going to shoot 1 of 7 in the first half like today. :p

Actually, since I never watch dook, I was looking to catch his game. So in that sense this is unfortunate.

Surprised by two things. He came back to the bench with no boot and no ice - I think that's a mistake
Anti-inflammatories can be injected at the site of the injury. Plus they can use that spray freeze as well. Probably will be elevating it in a boot later today.

I think he's fine - no boot, no ice.

Crazy, because there was one pic when he was in the wheelchair with his sock off and it looked like it was already quite swollen. We shall see what they say tomorrow.

I feel like they would have done more than retape him if it was a severe sprain. He looked stiff but not immobile walking after the game in the handshake line.

Much different than what we saw with McNeeley.

I’d be surprised if they played him for the rest of the tournament, even if he’s good to go - feels like more downside than upside.

That looked worse than Liam's. Sucks for Duke but he will be ok and fine for the long term. Guess the WSJ jumped the gun with the "Duke is unstoppable" article lol

The refs are really going to have to step it up.
That Duke/UConn matchup might need changing as well. Too risky, even if the game is in NC.

He'll play in the Tournament, probably even 2nd game, but he will be slowed.

X rays were negative, they'll reassess tomorrow after seeing how bad the swelling is.
