We'll be OK. Look at the bright side, tickets will be cheaper now.
Well he benched him the whole second halfMaybe he's too stubborn since he brought in Mahaney, and may want to prove it wasn't a mistake to do so.
Nailed itThe lack of driving the ball on offense is what is truly driving me crazy. They come off screens and hoist when there is a lane to the basket. The offense last year was predicted on coming off that screen and the guard driving into the lane where he had options take it to the basket. Kick to an open shooter, pass it to a cutter or lob it to the big man. There has been none of this this year. It’s all screen and 3.
It's weird the one player you mention is Liam considering he was our best player today and has arguably been our best player so far this season. Kid is a gamer. This feels different to me because we won our first 14 before we fell apart so we knew they had it in them. I am not sure I have seen anything that says this team is any better than a 7 or 8 seed and that might be a stretch.
We are just not athletic enough and I don’t see anything that tells me the roster construction is going to get us there.
Liam may have been a higher recruit than Steph (not sure) but the only thing he does better on the BB court than Steph is shoot.
I really want to be optimistic but it’s looking like this is a transition year.
I hope I am wrong about everything but this is very concerning.
No play design has only one option. There’s the primary option, yes, but then you have to go to alternate options if that play isn’t there. It looked like maybe we were trying to get AK coming back to the ball at the top of the key, but Colorado switched and it wasn’t there. And then there’s not much time to work with. In this case, Diarra got a shot up there and gave us a chance at a tip in at least. So does someone get punished for that? And maybe not start tomorrow? We shall see.
True, but you have to think they are gun shy with the ticky tack fouls that were called. Maybe practicing without fouls isn;t a good ideaThe REFS did not shoot 56% and 54% against our lousy defense.
I don’t know if we do. I think this team is constructed poorly and the offseason hype was hyperbolic to a degree. When we came up against actual teams some of the guys played so below expected. Ross was touted as an NBA prospect by Hurley and didn’t do a thing in either game. Mahaney was supposed to be a heady and crafty scorer and looks like a 15 year old kid. I don’t even want to start with Samson, just beyond disappointed in every aspect. We have too many guys who if their 3 isn’t falling, they really don’t have much to their game.We are scoring enough points to win these games. Last year if we scored 72 the other guys had 59. We aren't guarding without fouling. These guys don't look good enough to guard straight up man without an eraser at the 5. We aren't getting the stops we need to key runs. I'm wondering if some junk defense would help. If we are going to try to just outscore the other guys we need to get some stops and steals, create some chaos and get out in transition. We have the horses for that.
Reed couldn’t get position on their big man. We never gave him the ball in the paint when he did have position. At one point we had 6 straight 3 point attempts. We lived and died by the three. When we finally ran offensiveDid you watch the game. We were much more effective with Johnson in the game. Reed was basically a no-show.
Hard to believe that Reed regressed so much after a great game yesterday.Did you watch the game. We were much more effective with Johnson in the game. Reed was basically a no-show.
I love Liam and he’s a terrific shooter and scorer. But he needs to get more than 1 rebound and 1 assist playing 33 minutes. He had a couple of turnovers and a couple of near turnovers. One of his bad passes resulted in Reed fouling out. Our guards would routinely get 5-6 rebounds and 3-5 assists playing that many minutes last year. It's weird the one player you mention is Liam considering he was our best player today and has arguably been our best player so far this season. Kid is a gamer.

Losing back to back games on blown over the back calls is so funny in a way
I'm with you on this! Plenty of time to figure it out. Make the dance and hope for the magic.Well get a 5-6 seed and win the whole damn thing again. I’m going full delusional
RIP to the streakThi
RIP to the streak
This is 100% true. If they get the calls right we're 2-0, but the flaws are still there and obvious. I'd much rather be addressing the flaws with 2 wins instead of 2 losses.Did you know? Change two over-the-back plays in the last minute of two games, and we're probably 2-0 instead of 0-2. But you can't give the officials a chance to determine the outcome in the last minute. The games have to be won much earlier.
UNCA loss tomorrow and we go from number 2 to out of the top 25. Has any team.ever done that in history?
Why do I remember Ross being a much better shooter coming out of HS? One thing to consider in tournament settings is the same way a team can get hot and carry that to multiple wins, teams also go through 3 day rough patches that can turn into multiple losses. You don’t have time to regroup in practice before your next game. I think it’s snowballing in Maui right now for this group. I think we’ll see a completely different team against Baylor, Gonzaga and Texas. We win 2 or 3 of those before BE play and we’re top 15 with the Maui disaster forgiven.I don’t know if we do. I think this team is constructed poorly and the offseason hype was hyperbolic to a degree. When we came up against actual teams some of the guys played so below expected. If that what was drawn up, that’s pretty disappointing. You want the ball in the hands of Ball, Alex, or Liam there. Two of those three should be involved in the inbounding and the catch imo. But what do I know I have no nattys lol.No play design has only one option. There’s the primary option, yes, but then you have to go to alternate options if that play isn’t there. Or be an 8-9 seed and win it hey you gotta win 6 games regardless.Well get a 5-6 seed and win the whole damn thing again. I’m going full delusional
No Kemba, TNew or Bazz on this teamAnd how on Earth do you not drive to the basket on the last possession?
