We all would hate Hurley if he didn't coach here. Not unexpected of course, but the amount of hate Hurley and UConn get online now is astounding. Across the board, from fans of other blue bloods to teams we’ve beat the last few years to conference opponents to randoms. The hate-envy is strong.
Totally get that Hurley is chaotic and divisive.
Johnson is a fouling machine, but to be fair, our guards get beaten so often that he is constantly having to bail them out.
Villanova the Battle 4 Atlantis last year and the sucked. That’s what is meant by flukyI'm not ready to throw in the towel after 6 games but what is fluky about Maui? It's basketball, the gym and the island had nothing to do with guys fouling non-stop and leaving shooters open. When we've had good to great teams they've played up to their level out there.
Well he wasn’t in foul trouble and played 0 minutes in the 2nd half, so I guess that’s how? Seems like even you could have cracked that puzzle.
For some reason he only seems to notice and rush the ball when it in the hands of an opposing player going at the basket. Once it goes up, it's like it disappears for him.Samson had 1 rebound and 10 fouls fouling out of both games in Maui. I don't even understand how that's possible for a 6'10 athletic freak with a 7'5 wingspan.
Once in a while but he creates his own fouls a lot more. Always reaching and today a real stupid over the back when he had 3 already and no chance to get the rebound. He’s just not very smart when it comes to staying out of foul trouble and it’s not changing at all.
Cool man, good to know. My comment was about why Ross got the minutes he did.You can’t blame the loss on the guy that didn’t play.
It's the defense that blows.
I would like to have some dribble drive as well, it's hard to rely on just threes when you don't execute anything like we did last year.
Alex was a ghost today because his scoring package is still basically just threes.
Nova went into Creighton's home gym and beat them after losing Philly Big 5 games, they were just all over the place early in the season, don't think the island or the venue had anything to do with itVillanova the Battle 4 Atlantis last year and the sucked. That’s what is meant by fluky
We aren't 3 peating. That needs to be dropped now for all our sanity. It is now about team and individual improvement to make the Tourney and play well.
That’s what I kept saying- “how many times in a row is he going to miss from 30 feet?” After you miss a few, try driving to the hoop or at least shooting closer to the basket.Karaban went 1-7 from 3, no 1/8
Maybe his lack of rebounds is because of his not securing the ball with both his hands, or getting it stripped or just being pushed out of position by stronger opposing players when under the basket.Samson had 1 rebound and 10 fouls fouling out of both games in Maui. I don't even understand how that's possible for a 6'10 athletic freak with a 7'5 wingspan.
Much more is hyperbole.Did you watch the game. We were much more effective with Johnson in the game. Reed was basically a no-show.
I agree with your take, but good shooters think if they keep shooting, they will revert to the mean. In his case, the mean is for made 3 pointers. That’s what I kept saying- “how many times in a row is he going to miss from 30 feet?” After you miss a few, try driving to the hoop or at least shooting closer to the basket.
AK s legs looked like the 43 minutes he played the night beforeIt's time to roll with Nowell over Mahaney and put Aiden in the Joey California role.
We had a center problem tonight. Reed will learn, I'm not too concerned about that.
AK's worst game of the season. O guarantee it.
Yeah. All the BYers who are joyful when a stud with 2 or 3 years left of eligibility maybe will figure things out some day. Not saying they shouldn’t leave, but personally I like UCONN winning and don’t give a rat’s heinie about the NBA. Already reading stuff touting McNeeley’s early departure.A clingan sized hole at Center
Well just remember - if Hurley didn't get Hawkins, Clingan, Castle etc to the NBA, McNeeley probably is wearing a different jersey.Yeah. It’s a good point - he looked exhausted today.AK s legs looked like the 43 minutes he played the night before
We just live in reality that its 2024 and that "stud" players aren't staying 4 years and we're (1) happy to see them move onto the NBA and (2) know that high draft picks lead to more great recruits/potential NBA players coming to UConn.Yeah.
