That's a first
And it’s not true. We were ineffective with both but only because of immediate foul trouble for Reed. SJ seems more lost than 2 years ago.

I admire the enthusiasm. Gonzaga is simply a better team than us. We can for sure beat Baylor beacuse they are erratic, but there is no reason right now to think we can beat Gonzaga.
The start times, the gym, the refs, the travel. We’ve played 2 morning basketball games. I’m not saying we’ve played well but let’s not say the season is over because of games in Maui.I'm not ready to throw in the towel after 6 games but what is fluky about Maui? It's basketball, the gym and the island had nothing to do with guys fouling non-stop and leaving shooters open. When we've had good to great teams they've played up to their level out there.
The problem is as much as we love Diarra he’ll make a beautiful pass on one possession then on the next couple he will over dribble, or hold the ball, or try a pass that he shouldn’t and this will get him trouble.Diarra had a few beautiful passes in the post. Those were so common with TNew at the point. Throw in DC, which is why last year’s team was one of the greatest ever.

I concur. Watching this tournament has been frustrating, but all good points.Bingo - 4 guys off to the NBA, and outside of Karaban, young and inexperienced. I suspect we will look much better in Jan/Feb....
Dude you're throwing the towel in before December lol. This is the way. We’ll be the 5-8 seed no one wants to play

Tough to get rebounds when the opposing team rarely missesI’ve said that repeatedly. I’ve just noticed McNeeley doesn’t offer resistance on drives. Also thought he would be getting more rebounds from the first few games. 1 in 33 minutes is rough.
Agree but sometimes maybe just statue down low when you have 3/4 fouls already. Some shots will be missed just by standing your groundJohnson is a fouling machine, but to be fair, our guards get beaten so often that he is constantly having to bail them out.
WOW!Samson had 1 rebound and 10 fouls fouling out of both games in Maui. I don't even understand how that's possible for a 6'10 athletic freak with a 7'5 wingspan.
He took a bad 3 against Memphis, too.Diarra then took a bad 3, Colorado rebounded and scored. Totally unnecessary shot.
Gonzaga will win by 30These are island games in November. there’s nothing more fluky than this event in a high school gym. I assume we just should pack it in the rest of the year? I’m not writing the obituary until the new year. Gonzaga in the garden?? And Baylor in Gampel. We’ll win both of those games.
Well he wasn’t in foul trouble and played 0 minutes in the 2nd half, so I guess that’s how? Seems like even you could have cracked that puzzle. How is Mahaney unplayable? I get that Mahaney is bad defensively, but so is everyone else other than Diarra and Karaban, and Diarra is the only true plus defender on the team. This is probably UConn’s worst defensive team since the Dream Season. The last two games have been a defensive horror show.
What evidence other than the hype from the coach is there that “we are really talented”
was there a good reason to think Colorado would beat UConn today?I admire the enthusiasm. Gonzaga is simply a better team than us. We can for sure beat Baylor beacuse they are erratic, but there is no reason right now to think we can beat Gonzaga.
I don’t get it, he has been much more effective and productive than RossI don't understand the short leash that Stewart has as opposed to Ross. Don't defend the 3 and can't defend without fouling, not a good recipe for success.
It's fashionable to jump on hate trains online. They'll get bored and it'll blow overNot unexpected of course, but the amount of hate Hurley and UConn get online now is astounding. Across the board, from fans of other blue bloods to teams we’ve beat the last few years to conference opponents to randoms. The hate-envy is strong.
Totally get that Hurley is chaotic and divisive.
Yes. We aren’t winning every year and it’s time to realize the last 2 years were historically special. It’s not fair to expect this year’s team to pick up where last year’s team left off.Is it time we accept that we simply lost way too much talent from last year's team to be able to challenge for a three peat? I don't know what to think right now...
Hope so. It's wild right now. It's fashionable to jump on hate trains online. They'll get bored and it'll blow over
