I admire the enthusiasm. Gonzaga is simply a better team than us. We can for sure beat Baylor beacuse they are erratic, but there is no reason right now to think we can beat Gonzaga.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel after 6 games but what is fluky about Maui? It's basketball, the gym and the island had nothing to do with guys fouling non-stop and leaving shooters open. When we've had good to great teams they've played up to their level out there.
The start times, the gym, the refs, the travel. We’ve played 2 morning basketball games. I’m not saying we’ve played well but let’s not say the season is over because of games in Maui.

Diarra had a few beautiful passes in the post. Those were so common with TNew at the point. Throw in DC, which is why last year’s team was one of the greatest ever.
The problem is as much as we love Diarra he’ll make a beautiful pass on one possession then on the next couple he will over dribble, or hold the ball, or try a pass that he shouldn’t and this will get him trouble.

Bingo - 4 guys off to the NBA, and outside of Karaban, young and inexperienced. I suspect we will look much better in Jan/Feb....
I concur. Watching this tournament has been frustrating, but all good points.

UConn hasn't had a losing streak in such a long time. The mid-2022-23 season slump seems like ancient history.

I’ve said that repeatedly. I’ve just noticed McNeeley doesn’t offer resistance on drives. Also thought he would be getting more rebounds from the first few games. 1 in 33 minutes is rough.
Tough to get rebounds when the opposing team rarely misses

Johnson is a fouling machine, but to be fair, our guards get beaten so often that he is constantly having to bail them out.
Agree but sometimes maybe just statue down low when you have 3/4 fouls already. Some shots will be missed just by standing your ground

These are island games in November. there’s nothing more fluky than this event in a high school gym. I assume we just should pack it in the rest of the year? I’m not writing the obituary until the new year. Gonzaga in the garden?? And Baylor in Gampel. We’ll win both of those games.
Gonzaga will win by 30

How is Mahaney unplayable? I get that Mahaney is bad defensively, but so is everyone else other than Diarra and Karaban, and Diarra is the only true plus defender on the team. This is probably UConn’s worst defensive team since the Dream Season. The last two games have been a defensive horror show.
Well he wasn’t in foul trouble and played 0 minutes in the 2nd half, so I guess that’s how? Seems like even you could have cracked that puzzle.

What evidence other than the hype from the coach is there that “we are really talented”

Every person that watches basketball concluding the same thing?

was there a good reason to think Colorado would beat UConn today?

Could just be early season kinks, could be a rut, could be a hot shooting night, could be stuff that gets ironed out in practice the next 2 weeks.

There’s just as many reasons to think it as not to think it.

Samson has no lower body strength on D vs Bigs. For him .It's about finesse verticality or fouls. And opposing coaches know that.

Not unexpected of course, but the amount of hate Hurley and UConn get online now is astounding. Across the board, from fans of other blue bloods to teams we’ve beat the last few years to conference opponents to randoms. The hate-envy is strong.

Totally get that Hurley is chaotic and divisive.

They aren’t yet good enough to get everyone’s best shot . 1)Nowell over Mahenay correct 2) they need time to develop consistency 3)they don’t really miss Tristen , they don’t really miss Cam , they don’t really miss Steph . THEY REALLY MISS DONOVAN

We aren't 3 peating. That needs to be dropped now for all our sanity. It is now about team and individual improvement to make the Tourney and play well.

I don't understand the short leash that Stewart has as opposed to Ross. Don't defend the 3 and can't defend without fouling, not a good recipe for success.
I don’t get it, he has been much more effective and productive than Ross

It's fashionable to jump on hate trains online. They'll get bored and it'll blow over

I agree, we have become the villains.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous, UConn is such an easy team to root for. We aren't even P5 and are a testament to the fact that you don't need to be one of those schools to be successful. A win in the natty game for a school like Purdue wouldn't change much but it means everything for UConn

Go hate on a school like Kentucky, at least we aren't killing college athletics
