Along w Andre DrummondChief, just out of the picture.
Good luck with thatif he can stay in front of opposing wings then He should be a 2/3. He’d be a matchup problem because of his height but He loses that advantage at the 4…Get me a shot blocking 6’8-6’9 guy that can shoot to play stretch 4 instead.
Was Deandre Daniels a unicorn?Good luck with that
Honestly? To some extent. Bama had a kid sorta like that who entered the portal this off season, I wanted us to go after him, but he also wasn’t super productive for them either. Was Deandre Daniels a unicorn?
Think Deandre was the first of his kind in cbb.Was Deandre Daniels a unicorn?
No, DeAndre Daniels had his best season and we won a championship with him at the 4. You're countering your own point hereWas Deandre Daniels a unicorn?
lol. Was Charlie Villanueva a unicorn too? Just from last season there was Flagg, Grant Nelson, Alex Condon….All stretch PFs that can block shots. No, DeAndre Daniels had his best season and we won a championship with him at the 4. You're countering your own point here
Flagg is the only one of those players that could play the 4 in our current offense. Many people call him a unicornlol. Was Charlie Villanueva a unicorn too? Just from last season there was Flagg, Grant Nelson, Alex Condon….All stretch PFs that can block shots.
I have no idea what you're even arguing right now. All I said was DeAndre Daniels had his best year playing the 4 in response to you saying Cloer should play the 3lol. Was Charlie Villanueva a unicorn too? Just from last season there was Flagg, Grant Nelson, Alex Condon….All stretch PFs that can block shots.
Please. Hurley and Murray redesigned the offense mid-season around the offensively inept Andre Jackson and won a chip as a result. I think they could figure out how to utilize guys like Condon and Nelson.Flagg is the only one of those players that could play the 4 in our current offense. Many people call him a unicorn
Then I guess Idk what your point was either or how it was a response to my post. I’d prefer a taller stretch 4 that can block shots as opposed to a 6’6 stretch 4 that can’t. Personal preference I guess.I have no idea what you're even arguing right now. All I said was DeAndre Daniels had his best year playing the 4 in response to you saying Cloer should play the 3
Tell Hurley thatPlease. Hurley and Murray redesigned the offense mid-season around the offensively inept Andre Jackson and won a chip as a result. I think they could figure out how to utilize guys like Condon and Nelson.
You’re the one underselling himTell Hurley that
You brought up that Cole Cloer should play the 2/3 and not the 4, and then brought up DeAndre Daniels, a guy who is the same size as Cloer and played the 4. That's all I was responding toThen I guess Idk what your point was either or how it was a response to my post. But they aren’t the same size… Cloer is 6’6 and Daniels is 6’9You brought up that Cole Cloer should play the 2/3 and not the 4, and then brought up DeAndre Daniels, a guy who is the same size as Cloer and played the 4. That's all I was responding to
Daniels was listed at 6'8 180 in HS, Cloer is 6'7 190But they aren’t the same size… Cloer is 6’6 and Daniels is 6’9
Edit- or is he 6’8? I thought I read a post saying he was 6’6. If not my b.
Cloer is also a lot more fluid than Daniels who’s game was stiff. But they aren’t the same size… Cloer is 6’6 and Daniels is 6’9

On the flip side, imagine those 4's trying to stay in front of him. I think that's a pretty big mismatch in his favor tooCloer is also a lot more fluid than Daniels who’s game was stiff.
Yes size wise Cloer is the same size as a lot of stretch 4s we had. But he’s so much more fluid than everyone he’s being compared to. It would be a disservice to him to put him at the 4 and not take advantage of the competitive advantage he’d have as a 3.
No. A guy like Karaban would not have an issue defending on the perimeter. Nor would most 4s in college basketball today that are pretty mobile. On the flip side, imagine those 4's trying to stay in front of him. I think that's a pretty big mismatch in his favor too
I know this is not surprising, but I could not disagree with you more on this. I think you are 100% dead wrong on this. College 4's may be pretty mobile, but most including Karaban are still too slow to defend a guy with guard skills and the size of a 4 like CloerNo. A guy like Karaban would not have an issue defending on the perimeter. His advantage would be his size for his position.
