Coaching wins

For whatever reason, UNC has accepted mediocrity in their once great WBB program, allowing Hatchell to plod towards 1000 wins against a continuous parade of cupcakes, knowing that the team will get hammered once they face the ACC schedule. Since Hatchell will achieve the 1000 win milestone this season, I would hope that the UNC administration finds a way to let her gracefully retire once the season ends.

Welp... since that is one coach that McCallie has a winning record against..... I would hope they let her stay as long as she wants :p Plus the longer she stays... the greater chance that Charlotte Smith either stays at Elon...or moves up the ladder to another program besides UNC.

  • Hatchell @1000 -- 12/19 Grmb (My guess: 12/19) <- back to 19th

I'll go on record and say Washington (even with current depleted roster) will win vs UNC. PAC12 will have a good showing and push Hatchell's milestone out by one. You heard it here first! :)

I can see this game going either way. Both teams are very inconsistent. Washington has shown life in beating BYU and Creighton, but just got creamed by Boise State last week. UNC has wins over Colorado and Minnesota, but losses to Hampton and South Alabama.

Although this game will be on a neutral court, it's a lot closer to home for UNC and the time change might be a factor for the Other Huskies. The 1:00 pm start time will feel like 10:00 am for the left-coasters.

It is incredible to think of the women's coaches ready to hit 1000 amazing careers the game has given them and much they have given the game

With each successive win by Rutgers, I become more optimistic about Stringer's chances of reaching 1,000 this year.

If they can get by Houston on Saturday, Rutgers will be 11-2 heading into Big Ten play.

At this point I strongly believe they are top 5 in their conference, and will be competing with Michigan and Iowa for #3 in the Big Ten.

Ten or eleven wins in conference is looking very doable for Rutgers, and that would put C-Viv just 1 or 2 postseason wins away from 1,000.

Actually we'd be 12-2. ;)

Also, I believe we could beat any B1G team(Maryland & OSU included) and compete for the crown. :p

You're absolutely right. I stand corrected. All the more reason why the 1,000th win this season is a reasonable aspiration at this point.

And I agree that Rutgers is capable of beating Ohio State and Maryland. However, Rutgers has also shown themselves capable of losing to a team like Washington State. If Rutgers can avoid losing to all the lesser teams in the Big Ten (and there are a lot of them), then they can certainly compete for the top spot.

Absolutely, I still don't know what we were doing in the WSU game. It's the only game where we had an entirely new starting lineup and Scaife only played 20 minutes in it.

We shouldn't have lost it regardless, but I think those factors played a big part in it.

I also think this 8 game home stand has really helped the team gel more, and get better and it's really exciting because Cviv teams typically get better after Christmas, so the next few months could really be special. We'll see.

PS: It still blows my mind the lack of respect Tyler Scaife is getting by the media.

I didn't see the WSU game, and I didn't know that the starting lineup was different. I wonder what that was about. Maybe Stringer was trying to give her starters some rest, playing their 3rd game in 3 days?

How do you feel Scaife is being disrespected by the media?

She was left off of every pre-season watch list and preseason All B1G teams.

Even after Rutgers amazing season last year?

Eh, she'll get added to the midseason lists. Those preseason lists are heavily based on last season's performance. Freshmen and redshirts are rarely included until they show their stuff in season.

Dang it, I was hoping UW could pull that one out.

Did Hatchell get credited for the wins during the 2014-15 season?

So, something that is supposedly very rare is likely to happen twice on the very same day. Strange!

Dang it, I saw a score for the UW-UNC game but I got the numbers flip flopped, I thought the Huskies won.
