Who saw this coming? And why now????
Who saw this coming? And why now????
Probably so that they can field a team next season.Who saw this coming? And why now????
Im in shock. Not sure why they couldn't have waited a few days and do this back in Winston-Salem. Thats gonna be a lonnnnnng drive home.
You'd think they'd get it given that the coach has been relieved....Very strange timing. Now any players who wish to transfer out/in are going to have to file waiver requests to be eligible this coming season since the May 1 deadline has passed.
Transfers out, yes; but, still have to go through the hassle of filing waiver requests. You'd think they'd get it given that the coach has been relieved....
I found that very odd that the official WF site published that comment. They certainly weren't obligated to do so.Oh, btw, note Hoover saying "without cause." Think that might be revisited in another court?
Stay tuned.
I feel like in a case like this players should be able to get a waiver if they the school got rid of a coach this late in the year. Seems like terrible management by the school to do it now, it puts everyone in a bind.Very strange timing. Now any players who wish to transfer out/in are going to have to file waiver requests to be eligible this coming season since the May 1 deadline has passed.
No if a coach is fired after May 1st, they have until June 1st.Very strange timing. Now any players who wish to transfer out/in are going to have to file waiver requests to be eligible this coming season since the May 1 deadline has passed.
Thanks for clearing that up, fair for the players now to make a decision if they do want to venture elsewhereNo if a coach is fired after May 1st, they have until June 1st.
Good to know. I've never seen that stipulated anywhere before. That only applies to the "head" coach, and not assistant coaches? What if the coach "quits" on their own instead of being "fired" ?No if a coach is fired after May 1st, they have until June 1st.
Because there’s been a coaching change the players can still enter the transfer portal and have until July 1 to do so, according to Currie.Very strange timing. Now any players who wish to transfer out/in are going to have to file waiver requests to be eligible this coming season since the May 1 deadline has passed.
@Sifaka is correct. Is this the same Currie who lasted less than a year as AD at Tennessee, the same tone deaf gent who hired Greg Schiano (of Sandusky Penn State fame)?
Hmmmm… Wikipedia thinks it's the dude who was run out of Knoxville on a rail by those oh-so-virtuous Tenn. fans.
“Currie took over as athletic director on February 28, 2017.Currie was dismissed on December 1, 2017 after 8 months on the job due to a failed coaching search that included the decision to agree to terms with Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano. The Schiano recruitment led to a large protest by fans in part due to Schiano's alleged failure to report the sexual assault of children by former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.“
Anyone got any ideas about Rutgers?
Ball Out is teasing something about Rutgers making a decision soon. Their "hot takes" have been a tad more accurate than others. The article link is behind a paywall FYI.
