One more loss and Kalen DeBoar will feel flames licking his butt.
He could win the NC and their fans will just say that was the bare minimum.

Yup, something that's always glossed over in realignment. Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida are all programs that I think their fans expect to have top ten teams yearly. Then you'll have the B-Tier teams like Ole Miss or Auburn making runs now and then. These super conferences can't keep everyone happy. USC is feeling it now too. This could be their normal season moving forward
Not so sure about that. They hadn’t won a Big 12 title since 2009 until last year.I don't think that'll be true about Texas. I think they'll get the rough end of officiating but Texas has its own gravitational field

I think Venebales is safe right now. OK is still a very good team, I just think he needs another year to fully get his full schemes in placeBrett Venables at Oklahoma to me, has to be feeling the heat.
After the Vandy game I saw where Paul Finebaum said he felt the same as he did when Vandy beat a Ray Perkins coached Alabama team. Meaning that it just hammered home the fact that the Bear wasn't around anymore and things were not going to be the same. Now I see him saying that Deboer gets "no credit" for winning the South Carolina game, that it was almost as bad of a finish as Cristobol not kneeling against GT last year, and that Alabama is the most disappointing team in college football this year. If he is any view into how the average Alabama fan thinks, then Deboer is in for one rough ride over there. He could win the NC and their fans will just say that was the bare minimum.

Yeah, the money and the presige that comes with a job like that has to be a powerful lure. To me, this is more about a crazy fan base that may be ready to hang the guy. That’s what he signed up for. He could have stayed in Washington and been fine with nearly ultimate job security. But with these buy outs who cares about that?
There a lot of moves that I just wonder why....you build so much and you see all these coaches flame out and get barely any time to build anything at programs with unrealistic expectations, and yet coaches still move on. Why leave for that? Ego and money are pretty darn powerful but sometimes a good thing is better than ruining your future career. That’s what he signed up for. I was at this game. It was brutal in every sense, from the play on the field to the seats to the concessions. I waited in a line for 10 minutes, got to the front, and they ran out of beer.Don Brown has got to be fired at UMass. They are pathetic.
Quote from an article on yahoo sports/AP
“I almost think the speed of the game surprised us a little bit,” UMass coach Don Brown said.

Luther Burden's long TD run gets No. 21 Missouri started in 45-3 rout of Minutemen
Missouri receiver Luther Burden scored on a 61-yard jet sweep less than a minute into the game, and the 21st-ranked Tigers went on to beat Massachusetts 45-3 on Saturday. “The first play Luther scored on I thought set the tone,” Missouri coach Eliah Drinkwitz said. UMass (1-6) lost its third...sports.yahoo.com

I disagree. In college football, the hardest person to find is a top offensive coordinator. With DeBoer, you already have that covered. Saban, a defensive minded coach, was able to find one consistently as he was open to rehab hires like Kiffin, Sarkisian, O'Brien, Locksley. DeBoer was a late hire at Alabama and his choice for DC was middling and he will need to correct that. He will just target the best DCs out there with SEC experience. My god. When they lose to Tennessee this weekend it may actually be over for him.
The biggest crime he has committed is that he got away from Bama’s core identity. Which is defense.
But on the other hand, this is what DeBoer is, the Bama AD knew what they were buying. He’s not a defense guy.

Are you familiar with DeBoer's record? 109-13 LIFETIME
67-3 Sioux Falls
12-6 Fresno
25-3 Washington
why would he think he couldn't be successful anywhere?
Nobody is going to replace Saban, but DeBoer has a great track record and he needs a better DC. Look at the P2 schools who have an offensive minded head coach. They have been able to find solid DCs.Yeah you can find Nick Sabans all over the place. What was I thinking.

Texas (Sarkisian) #1 scoring defense
Ole Miss (Kiffin) #3 scoring defense
Tennessee (Heupel) #4 scoring defense
Ohio State (Day) #5 scoring defense
Nebraska (Ruhle) #7 scoring defense
When Swinney and Clemson made their runs, they were lead by an offensive minded coach who had a top DC, Venables from 2012 to 2019.
A bit of drama here; shocking, eh?
FSU kinda got screwed last year after going undefeated and now we are firing their coach?
Leopold? Seriously, anyone that can make KU a winner is Rockne-esque. Now his window is closing?
Auburns recruiting class is way too good.
Don Brown? The same one many here swear by as greatest D mind in program history?
If UF boosters want Billy gone, he’s gone no matter the size of buyout.
You want a coach on hot seat? See Temple.

CFB is now a chemistry experiment every year. Last year, UConn's did not work out well. Players quitting after four games to preserve a year of eligibility and enter the portal. This year things seem to be working out better. Keep our fingers crossed. No chance Norvell is on the hot seat. Florida State got screwed last year because they aren’t in the SEC or Big Ten. Yes, they were missing their starting quarterback, but that snub would’ve never happened if they were in the P2.
They recruited 46 guys in the off-season to replace the mass exodus and the situation just hasn’t come together. It was a chemistry experiment, and unlike ours, it hasn’t worked out very well. Norvell is as good a choice as anyone to get them back on track. He’s a great coach and good man. Firing him just wouldn’t make any sense at this point.
Last year was all politics of the current moment. The idea you hold out an undefeated power school is unforgivableNo chance Norvell is on the hot seat. Their players all skipped town. That was not the same team in that bowl game. Not at all. It was proven that they didn’t belong. The committee did the right thing.
