No chance Norvell is on the hot seat. Florida State got screwed last year because they aren’t in the SEC or Big Ten. Yes, they were missing their starting quarterback, but that snub would’ve never happened if they were in the P2.

They recruited 46 guys in the off-season to replace the mass exodus and the situation just hasn’t come together. It was a chemistry experiment, and unlike ours, it hasn’t worked out very well. Norvell is as good a choice as anyone to get them back on track. He’s a great coach and good man. Firing him just wouldn’t make any sense at this point.

CFB is now a chemistry experiment every year. Last year, UConn's did not work out well. Players quitting after four games to preserve a year of eligibility and enter the portal. This year things seem to be working out better. Keep our fingers crossed.

Last year was all politics of the current moment. The idea you hold out an undefeated power school is unforgivable

Georgia lost some players too.
Georgia celebrated how their stars stayed to play in the game.... Kirby Smart talked about how they would always "compete like hell"

The summary of Georgia player availability from the Miami Herald:
Georgia entered the game Saturday without any of its healthy starters opting out. The only true noticeable player who didn't suit up was All-American tight end, Brock Bowers, who has been dealing with a high ankle injury for nearly two months

FSU was down 6 starters on offense, 8 on defense, Georgia was a 3 TD favorite going into the beat-down (although 63-3 is ridiculous regardless)

Georgia was missing players too and also didn't want to be there despite what they said.

FSU deserves everything they got and then some. A real championship team would have competed.

The right four made the playoffs.

Are you familiar with DeBoer's record? 109-13 LIFETIME
67-3 Sioux Falls
12-6 Fresno
25-3 Washington

why would he think he couldn't be successful anywhere?
I was talking more about coaches who are successful for a few years at G5 tier programs and then get offered mid to high level P4 jobs and get the boot within 2-3 years. Not anyone specific

Oklahoma is going to become another Nebraska in the SEC. I think long term Texas will too. Opening the door to the SEC into their recruiting grounds won’t end well for either one.
Oklahoma is going to become another Arkansas in the SEC: a smaller-state school that doesn't have the in-state talent with which to compete consistently.

So, is the Moore hire a stain on Superstar Warde's legacy at Michigan?

Getting a little toasty in Crimson Tide territory. Patience is not their long suit. He probably get this year and next but it may be a dead man walking scenario.

Deboer can win 10 games every year and they';ll still be pissed because he hasn't won a title.

True but they are still the best because they only lost to teams that beat Alabama.

Here are the first year records of the last 8 Alabama head coaches:

Bear Bryant 5-4-1
Ray Perkins 8-4
Bill Curry 7-5
Gene Stallings 7-5
Mike DuBose 4-7
Dennis Franchione 7-5
Mike Shula 4-9
Nick Saban 7-6

And, Nick Saban lost at home to Louisiana-Monroe in year 1, 21-14. And, L-M ended up 6-6 that year.

I think the powers to be at Alabama know that you have to give DeBoer some time and he will probably end up having the best first year head coaching record of the past 8.

Saban inherited a bad team from Shula, while DeBoer follows a NC-caliber season.

He will absolutely get some time, as he should. I'm just saying that it would probably take multiple NCs for some fans to get over the Vandy loss.

True, but DeBoer had to deal with the transfer portal and Alabama lost 39 walk-ons and scholarship players to the portal after Saban retired.
