Unfortunately, for the AD at a school like VCU they need to be good at it since they have so much practice. VCU has been used as a steppingstone for multiple coaches and that trend will likely continue forever.

In comparative to some that made it one can certainly say WVU deserved, If they all didn't make it I would agree with you.

This is incredibly selfish of Willard. I need him to win one more game for my pool.
 
Williard's old man was a good guy (especially for a one time Pitino assistant). The son is quite the annoying whiner and appears to also be a bit of a diva.

Obviously, the Maryland team did not perform very well, losing by 16. This must have affected the team. Not a good look for Willard.

Alternatively, Florida is a very good team.

Either way, I do not think Kevin Willard is worth break-the-bank money. He is a mediocre nepo-baby that just made his first Sweet Sixteen after 18 years as a Head Coach. He doesn’t suck, but this is not a guy that deserves a massive contract that will make him un-fireable by Villanova or Maryland and unhirable by any other school.

Perhaps to most in the general public Maryland had the image of being a better job but I doubt that's the case any more, unless the person in question is from the northeast corridor. Keep in mind, he's from Texas.
