Goodness. That is amazing. I think Portland should just ditch Ayton. A Clingan and Rob Williams tandem is stellar defensive anchors. Now, just got to fix the 1,2,3 positions.

I hate watching Scott and Anfrenee Simmons and Jermani grant play. They strike me as bad team 20-point scorers.

Their 2-3 is solid with Sharpe back. Him and Camara are pretty good at the 2-3 and they have Avdija, Murray and Banton off the bench. Though Avdija does swing to the four at times. They also have Thybulle back at some point.

Grant isn't horrible but he's a bit of a blackhole on offense. Avdija is a solid backup.

Scoot is young, so I think he deserves a bit of a break. Simmons though, he's trash. A vet backup PG would do them wonders, if they could get one for Simmons/Ayton.

The only issue with Williams III is how often injured he is.

If they want to be good they need to trade Simmons/Ayton for vet bench PG and center. Not sure who would make sense there in terms of contract. They can live with Grant and Scoot I think.

I think Scoot and DC have a thing. If Clingan can get him going it would be huge for the Blazers. He's looked good the last few games.

Scoot is very young, but I just see a volume scorer there. We’ll see how much he develops.

The Blazers are now 3-0 with Clingan in the starting lineup. He finished with 6 points (3-4 shooting), 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal, 1 turnover, and 3 fouls in 22 minutes. Rob Williams had 14 points and 8 rebounds in 24 minutes, and he was on the floor at the end of the game. Those two are a very solid duo already, and probably both better than Ayton. Shaedon Sharpe has started to break out the last few games. Things aren’t so bad in Portland…

Shows DC as -21 in +/- for the game, in a win. Way worse than any other starter, how is that possible. Win by 4 and he is -21?

Blazers went on a crazy run in the third after DC was subbed out. Not really his fault but they went from down about 8-10 to up that much IIRC. I was only half watching the game yesterday as I had some work to do.

Sharpe is looking very good in the few games he's been back. Him (21), Scoot (20) and DC (20) has a ton of potential for a young core. Throw in Camara at 24 and a great defender and that's a team with potential with good positional fit.

Sharpe , Scoot and DC are a nice combo to build a contending team with. Having two elite guards who are avg-small size is a dangerous combo defensively usually and almost always comes to kill you in the playoffs.

But having a giant world eating defensive anchor behind them changes that math , they also have Camara who is an excellent young wing defender.

More luck , good general management, and player development they will be a nasty team in the years to come. Glad DC landed there
