Prato has been struggling with the bat since coming back from the injury. He's part of a 1-2-3 5th inning for the Husky bats. Meanwhile, Chris Jones sees lightning off in the distance, with some rain starting to fall.
Montgomerie leaves two runners stranded on the bases in the 6th, closing the inning with his 9th strikeout of the day, which is also number 2oo in his UConn career.
As infuriating as this team can be, I cannot imagine what the Cincy board is like when their team loads the bases with no one out. They almost never score.
Poulin has been a much better pitcher of late, pretty much starting with that 5 inning start. Before that, it never seemed that he could get out of any trouble.
I don't want to crap on Aaron hill but he has had too many errors and mind boggling mental lapses. I will take my chances with freshman than see a senior who gets picked off while in scoring position in the last month of his career.
1-2-3 8th inning for Poulin. Every year it seems that a seldom used younger pitcher emerges late in the season and starts to pitch at a much higher level. Could we be seeing that this year with PJ?
