If our pitchers actually pitch like aces, we will be fine this series. Cincy is awful.

Edit: looked at their schedule and while they have stunk in conference, they definitely are not as bad as I had imagined.

.-.
I do not understand how we occasionally rough up some very good starting pitchers, yet cannot touch awful midweek pitching.

Hill seems like a pleasant young man, but losing him will honestly be addition by subtraction at this point. He just cannot get any hits.

Yes, unfortunately this has been Hill his entire 4 years. However, if he follows suit, he does always seem to get hot in May.

Maybe Feldstein read my comment from last game about benching him and is taking it personally. He has shown up today.

Two things about Feldstein. At the beginning of the year Penders said in at least one of the interviews that he was a very streaky hitter. Hopefully he is entering into another big streak with the bat. The other thing is that Feldstein injured his leg or ankle around the time of the East Carolina series. He slumped badly around that time. It could also be that Feldstein's injury has healed sufficiently, and he is able to hit better because of it.

Tim Cate's performance in this game reminds me of classic Wills Montgomerie. Get into trouble, and get out of it unscathed with no runs coming in.

Cate gets through the 8th inning. He has 11 strikeouts on the day.

.-.
Rajkowski loads the bases with a walk, with no one out. Russell coming in.

Drat! No out grand slam homer off of Russell ties the game at 4.

Are you kidding me!!! 9TH INNING GRAND SLAM BY AJ BUMPASS TO TIE THE GAME???

.-.
Uncle, uncle, uncle... passed ball brings in go ahead run and Penders gets tossed. 5-4 Cincy w/ 2 outs - man on first.

Cincinnati scores on a passed ball to take the lead. UConn played well for 8 innings, but it has turned into a disastrous game.
