The CIAC isn’t a governmental bodyUnless you’re an idiot and can’t process context, it clearly is editorial hyperbole. This action infringes on the freedom press and first amendment. And, yes, the guy is a BC clown but that doesn’t justify this retaliation for calling out the CIAC.
I don't plan on ever getting a Real ID.
As for DiMauro he's always come across as a loser but the CIAC looks way worse than he does here, their actions are ridiculous.

Because I don't need it for anything.Ok, nice bait. Why not, do tell.
It's ridiculous they banned him for an exaggeration.
What's more more ridiculous is that this guy wasted an article (which got him suspended) because he's too cheap to spend $56 on a license that he needs if he ever wants to fly somewhere domestically (or else get fined).
What happens if the day arrives when you need to change jobs?Because I don't need it for anything.
A passport is a real ID. How does a journalist not have the basic things needed to do their job properly since they often travel, sometimes at a moments notice....? Baffling really.I know a lot of you are from the Fairfield and Hartford areas, so you want to celebrate a critic of UConn getting what he had coming to him. As a player and a coach who has benefitted from Mike’s fantastic high school coverage, the kids are the losers here. The CIAC can’t take deserves criticism and they’ll let the kids miss out to protect themselves. Mike does a great job covering Eastern Connecticut.
You can say what you want about him not having a Real ID - the fact is the game was moved because a number of Kilkingly parents didn’t have one either. There was an issue of being able to access the game and I think Mike’s article highlighted that, as well as the CIAC’s short sightedness well.
In fairness, the last time I renewed my license I brought all my materials to New Britain and because I didn't have the full page copy of my birth certificate they denied my Real ID renewal. I did have to get the full page one for the passport I got a couple of years later. A trip to Hartford and those "highly motivated" (cough cough) people was an adventure in itself. On the bright side I now know I was born on a Thursday at 3:15pm.Got to the location down by the football complex and still have it on my bucket list to see a game there. A most beautiful setting overlooking the Thames River. Real ID came out in 2011 in CT hard to believe so many have not got it done when renewing their drivers license. Simple and painless and obviously something anyone in media should have.
If this is actually the article in question, then it is absolutely ridiculous that he was banned for this. There was no “expression of violence,” just someone complaining about bureaucracy, as nobody would take his homicidal thoughts as a legitimate threat, something anyone that’s ever been to the Department of motor vehicles has done at some point.
He is extraordinarily self-absorbed. Pro tip for journalists: if you find yourself making yourself the story, it may be time to consider retirement.Probably an overreaction but this guy genuinely seems pretty unwell.
Why was this the only game not scheduled for New Britain? I get logistics, but surely others could have benefited from closer games too. Looks like most would have been better around New Haven.I know a lot of you are from the Fairfield and Hartford areas, so you want to celebrate a critic of UConn getting what he had coming to him. Wasz gud?The only other CT journalist that rivals his behavior was Des Conner (what's good?)
Im pretty sure that a passport is a real ID.I have a passport, I'll always have an up to date passport.
