Celtics

Would be such a Celtics thing to do to win game 5 and game 7 in GS.

Curry is unreal but Celtics shouldn't let that happen, they seem to like to do things the hardest way.

Celtics tried to win the game with the three against the best shooters ever instead of bludgeoning them. Is Robert Williams hobbled again?

Didn't think Kerr would have the guts to bench Draymond, that stretch where they went on an 11-3 run with Draymond out won the game. Surprised Kerr went back to him to close and even more surprised he played well considering what he had shown up until that point, dude looks like he's playing like a double agent.

.-.
Curry with an all time finals performance. It's wild how the Celtics have chosen to defend him basically all series. I actually thought Wiggins played really well. Used his size and athleticism to attack the glass and create 2nd opportunities and put pressure on the Celtics rebounding.

The Celtics biggest weakness is they are ungodly bad at times taking care of the ball and Marcus Smart. Like yes he's good but he's also very not good at times and nobody thinks its their time to hit a big shot more than him.

Atleast we'll have a series on our hands. 7 games seems inevitable at this point. On the one hand the Warriors are gunna need more from their role guys but on the other maybe not if the Celtics continue to let Curry do whatever he wants.

This is such a physical mismatch. Robert Williams has Poole on him half the time it seems. Only athletic guy in Warriors entire rotation is Wiggins. Draymond is all bark, no bite now. You would think Kerr would play Kuminga just to make the Celtics have to think about guarding the rim and getting blocked.

Only chance Warriors have is if Celtics get really sloppy with turnovers and Warriors drain a ton of threes. Celts should win in 5 or 6 just off of athleticism and size.
Guess what? Celtics got really sloppy and the Ws drained a lot of 3s. Have to hand it to Steph. He just made tough shot after tough shot. Even when very well defended. Boston missed a lot of clean looks.

Not really, Celtics are way bigger and way more athletic. They'll get lucky with a loose ball layup but Robert Williams has totally shut down the paint and Warriors are tiny and unathletic.
This is why I keep saying that if Samson Johnson is good enough on D we need to play him quite a bit at the 4. Size matters. Athleticism matters. Johnson + Sanogo can shut down the paint and create mismatches against almost every opponent. Add Jackson at the 3 and the shot blocking potential is massive.

Rob Williams is definitely still not 100%. He was listed as questionable for this game. The ball needs to go through him more. His calling card skill set is passing and shot blocking. He’s a superb passer. Last night the Cs too often reverted to ISO ball.

Looney was good too, he’s an underrated piece on that team. Curry was real good and the Cs were real bad. Tatum was overall dreadful with the ball as was Smart often. I think as upstater put it a couple Cs actually played disinterested it seemed.

Well they’re good after they get beat so they’re in control

Wiggins was key for GS. Curry is Curry but they needed another scorer - Klay is just not consistent and really needs transition looks. Smart kills me. His three
attempts in the 4th turned into bad possessions for the C’s. I heard this morning that he had a really bad +\- in the teens. The worst things that can happen to smart is to hit a three or two early. He does everything else really well too, but he just can’t accept the fact that he’s not the guy to be taking those shots.

Rooting for Celtics, but I would also like to see 7. Was a must win for Warriors

It was Curry’s turn to look old last night, but Thompson played well and Wiggins really stepped up for the Warriors.

Tough to win with 18 TO and shooting 66% from the line. Warriors putting a lot of pressure on the refs to make calls.

Curry with 16 and 0-9 from 3 and you can’t beat them, huge trouble. Tatum and Brown careless with the ball too often still, not many others helping the usuals out.

As SprtsThrpy said refs let the Warriors suddenly become great defenders with their holding and mugging making Tatum and Brown unable to get clean lanes yontue rim. Maybe a couple more calls Thursday so the NBA can see a game 7?

Celtics missed a lot of open shots 1st half. Brown was quiet, White, Williams, Pritchard were missing, and even Tatum was off.

They expended a lot of energy storming back, but the whole Smart scenario took it from a 4 point game to 11 points. Thompson's 3, Smart's tech 1, then the ridiculous flop off the inbound that was called a foul on Smart lead to another 3. That's a 7 point sequence, and it was ballgame.

Tatum and Brown have to eliminate their brain freeze plays. Too many unforced turnovers and bad shot selection. And Jalen, for the love of God, do you understand what hold for the last shot means? C'mon man

They also have to stop complaining to the refs. Only the Warriors can (1) get away with it and (2) not let it impact their own game. They've perfected it

Just play

Pressure on the refs? Is that what they call flopping now? Or tripping over your own feet? Celtics had to play a great game to overcome the officiating (even several clearly wrong out of bounds calls), and instead they played poorly. Turnovers, missing FTs, missing bunnies, missing wide open looks.

Yup, forcing the ref to make a call on a flop or a drive to the rim. But as others have said, tough to see these calls not going to celts way in game 6. NBA is nearly unwatchable with the playoff officiating, but I seem to tune in to every game anyways…forget having to listen to JVG spew nonsense all game

shot terribly from 3 but did everything else well. Celtics switched up their scheme on him but he was passing well after drawing 2.

It's been interesting watching Tatum in this series. He's been atrocious as a PnR ballhandler: 24% turnover rate, a measly .78 PPP, and he's shooting only 36% out of it. Granted, he's only shooting 31% inside the arc this series.

I credit Boston for trying to develop him into a playmaker but the dude is just a natural scorer. He's improved his playmaking chops a bit but I don't know that you want him on-ball as often as Udoka does sometimes. At least Udokah moved him off-ball more in Game 5.

Wild stuff, I don't have the figures after last night but gotta figure the Warriors went down after that performance. Celtics started off slow, then went nuts, and finally came back down to earth afterwards. Kinda crazy the Warriors are up 3-2 considering how poorly they've shot from 3.

Celts are in trouble. Steph Curry is not gonna go 0-9 next game, more likely he’ll lose his mind and start draining 3’s from the parking lot. This was their best chance to get one, imo. Even if they win the next game, it’ll be tough to keep this Dubs team down for 2 games straight.

I hope dude isn't wrecking his knee for good but this doesn't promising. Looks like an isaiah thomas situation all over again.

Celtics look horrible in the 1st half of Game 6...It's like they never have played offense or defense.... Extremely difficult to watch...
