Celtics Pursuing Kemba Walker?

Hayward is such a waste of money, and he is untradable.
He's coming off a catastrophic injury. Paul George was 1/5th the player he is now the first year after his similar injury. Hayward could very well return close to form, and then his contract expires the following year and it will become pretty tradeable if need be.

That’s an NBA lifetime taking up cap space. He was an above average player on a bad team in Utah. He’s not worth anywhere near what he’s getting - healthy or not.

It’ll be tough salary wise to make that work

Smart, bear and semi should basically get you a decent part of the way there cap wise.

They will have no money left and still don't have a center. It IS a snowballs chance in hell.

They have Robert Williams who played excellent in short stints.

They also have the MLE to add depth.

I’m not sure if they have the biannual.

I don't think Robert Williams is going to cut it. He played good minutes, but he was allowed to foul at will, basically. His game defensively might look a lot different when he isn't allowed to swing at everything.

He's got great size and athleticism though. If he picks up the IQ part of the game a little better, he could be an important piece going forward.

They'll have the Room mid level if they sign Kemba with cap space.

Miami and Utah — in addition to Boston — both felt differently. He was above average — far above average.

He’s going to be a lot better this year. He showed flashes last year. He’ll be more consistent this season.

We've found Chief's worst take. He averaged 22/5.5/3.5 on 47%/40%/84% as a 26 year old all-star on a team that went 46-27 in games he played. 13 games of 30+ points. PER of 22.2, league average is 15. He was as close to as a star as they were going to get and a bonafide max player.

Nobody going to mention that this "bad team" was a playoff team in the brutal west who won a series?

Well you’re the third guy in a row who’s pointed out they weren’t a bad team, so, yeah, we’re letting him know!

Chief must have been partying too hard with Bunkey and Dre that season...

Kyrie's going to Brooklyn. Kemba is reportedly down to Dallas and Boston in that order.

I'm not even much of a Hayward fan but awful take from Chief. He also tore it up that playoffs.

Same. He was good all around but seeing the Jazz go to iso Joe in all clutch situations made me think less of Hayward. Like you, I am forced to play devil's advocate by how bad the take was. He was obviously a very good player. I just thought overrated.

Not to mention as a FA signing they didn't have to give up any player or draft assets to get him. Only cap space. And they had to use the cap space that summer, because otherwise they would have consumed it in the Kyrie trade.

You’re way off the mark here. Dude is a big wing, super athletic, and an excellent shooter. He was an all star on a playoff team.

You will see a different player next year. No one was questioning the contract pre-injury.

I hate the Celtics and don’t want Kemba there, but the hexadecimal color made me laugh.

more reason to hope he's with the C's

our best,

If the "football site" is sending you to be their spokesman, then they have much more pressing issues to worry about than my NBA allegiances.

I SO hope this Kemba to the C's happens... love watching the guy play. Him replacing Ky-me would be a major +++. What worries me most is that somehow KI still ends up on the team next year. Is there any chance of that? I don't mean realistically, all signs point to no, but is there some heff'd up way he could end up with them still? Am I just paranoid? He cannot be on the team next year...that has to be #1 priority...not even, 'who IS on the team next year'....but, 'not him.'

I vote HELLS YES. I like Scary Terry but I think Kemba with Smart, Langford, Edwards and Tremont as backup guards would be awesome! Kemba is the leader the Celtics need. Trade for a decent C and this team will be rock solid.

There has to be a serviceable center out there. Is Emeka still around? Tacko didn't get drafted. Somebody, somewhere, has to he able to fill that hole inexpensively.
