forgettable games from Stewart and Ball
yes. it is clear that Ross is ahead of Stewart. I don’t understand why Stewart can’t hit his stride. He needs look at himself in mirror and say “I am going to be a great player and nothing is gonna stop me”. He needs to figure how to make games like this not happen.

The starting 5 of AK, Tarris, SD, Solo and Mullens has to be the most firepower in college. The first half defense has nice and I think where we can get to with this group. We found out tonight that Silas is a championship PG. By far the most important result other than the win.

It's hard to describe our three year players. There's not a complete player among them, and that is frustrating. You just hope Solo puts it all together, Ross continues to improve and flash, and JStew I'm not sure about...I'm not sure if we are going to get any more than what he's shown at this point.

A tough game to watch in the 2nd half.

BYU took advantage of the officiating and dwindled our lead by slowing the ball down, driving the ball, and drawing fouls.

I think the refs would have done the same for us, but our offense is clearly a set offense with lots of cutting/screening that doesn't draw as many fouls.

The J.Stewart experiment should be over.

Ross came up much bigger tonight.

I was going to give Stewart a lot of credit for some good defense in the 1st half, but clearly Dybantsa was not that engaged in that half.

Not to say we have anybody that could slow Dybantsa the 2nd half, but Stewart didn't contribute anything the 2nd half, other than a easy dunk.

If you're getting toasted on D, at least get some buckets to offset that.

Getting Mullins back will help a great deal.

I will never understand Hurley stall ball bs when UConn goes up big, just let these dudes play the full 40 minutes. Raftery saying UConn "uncharacteristically slowed their tempo down" nothing uncharacteristic about it, he does this bs constantly. Alot of great things to take from this game with Silas/Reed/AK/Ross performances but those last 10-12 minutes...
That… plus you need to cover your eyes every time they pass the ball in with pressure during a close game.

Great game though. BYU should be happy despite the loss. I’m a happy camper with the win.

Football won too - fun game at the Rent with my kids 😃

Good win. Shouldn’t have been that close. Seems we were not running our offense as effectively in the second half. Got tired? Not cutting hard. We need more of Salis going to the rim. He seems to have a good midrange game. We’re not focused when we play prevent offense.
They're motion offense is not being executed quickly most of the time. There were some nice sets but more that didn't give them an advantage. More work is needed.

Good point. Is it fair to expect Silas to have most of last years plays down? BYU really bore down in the second half and we don't have the play book of last year down to play a slow down offense like last year. Hopeful we can continue to improve the half court game. We did not play that well against the pressure defense and we better attend to that. I think they got it together when they saw that BYU was
not going to quit and for that they should be commended. Malachi made a dumb play but I think he will be a huge asset as a third guard.
We have quite a bit of speed if we want to utilize it. Good win in Beantown which can now be Storrs North. I think we will grow from this game. We have a lot of upperclassmen and that will bode well as the year goes on.
