Mullins is exactly what this team is missing. Excited to see the fully operational Death Star.
There is no such thing as an unsatisfying top 7 win. What are we doing here?Too late into this 9 page thread, but I would say: probably the most unsatisfying win against a top 7 team on a neutral court I can remember.
Giving up a mid second quarter double digit lead to squeak it out at the end. Uhg. We have to get better.
Go back and take a look at the timing of those fouls Tom. At one point they had like three and we're already in the bonus. Later on the refs started to call equalizing foulsFouls:
BYU - 22
UConn - 21
You were OK with the last 10 minutes? There is no such thing as an unsatisfying top 7 win. What are we doing here?
I dont think we would of been in that situation if Solo was himself. Would have extended the lead more. So without a good Solo, and no Mullins for additional firepower, our offense bogged down in the 2nd when we slowed it down.Too late into this 9 page thread, but I would say: probably the most unsatisfying win against a top 7 team on a neutral court I can remember.

Were you okay with the first 30?You were OK with the last 10 minutes?
Yes, we won at the end of itYou were OK with the last 10 minutes?
Nobody was but we are still gelling as a team and only 4th game of the year and with a key starter out in Mullins. Give it time and see were we are in January. It will be remembered a quality neutral win against a top team that will make the tournament. It is good we dealt with some adversary in this game but still won as we will hopefully better after this game. We need to feed the beast better for sure. You were OK with the last 10 minutes?
That's a hell of a weird takeawayMissing their best big for most of the game and another starter for dui. Whatever, we had a couple of guys not step up at all and it’s a problem.
absolutely happy with the first 30 - not happy with the end. We easily could have lost with 4 minutes left. We never should have been in that situation. Were you okay with the first 30?
And your question is irrelevant to if I’m happy about beating a legitimate top 7 team on a neutral site without our MCDAA starting lottery pick. Yes I’m satisfied. Lmfao
I agree with everything except "He (Dybantsa) is in a completely different galaxy from anyone else on the floor." There is some great players at the collegiate level, including some of our guys who are in the same galaxy, not to take anything away from Dybantsa. We have the two stalwarts: Demery & Reed.
We have the mojo man: Karaban
We have unbelievable defensive wings.
Ross had his best game by a country mile and is starting to look consistent.
Overall, such a gritty win. It’s tough to hold a 20 pt lead against a top 5-10 team, and with their first test, they survived. The slowed pace hurt us, but not having Ball playing well and using Malachi a lot IMO is the reason the pace slowed for so long.
Dybantsa is going to make hundreds of millions of dollars. He is in a completely different galaxy from anyone else on the floor. Can I bet futures on the 2030 MVP? Like buttah.
AN IMPROVED VERSION OF WHO??????
So you don’t like wins against good teams we could’ve lost? That’s a miserable way to watch games given that most games against top 7 teams are going to be close hard fought victories. Every UConn team can’t be 23,24 UConn.absolutely happy with the first 30 - not happy with the end. We easily could have lost with 4 minutes left.
Solo went to bench, and Smith had to come in. Mullins could have played instead of Smith with Stewart/Ross.Dybsanta Worth every dollar BYU paying him; the kid is a star ( already) . Thought Alex played his best game ever in showing that he can play in the league ; made 3’s , put ball on floor and was competitive on defense. Tonight we saw why they went hard after Silas . Not sure where Mullins minutes coming from ( looking at tonight’s minutes distribution ) . Thought Stewart and Ross did a good job guarding Dybsanta. The type of win that adds to the seed line in march .
disagree. If we had kept running our offense they don’t get close. We stopped running our offense with 13 to go. That’s bananas. Hurley almost caused us this game. First, the constant fouling is a coaching issue. Our constant over reaching 15 feet from the basket is a coaching issue. Our inability to understand the type of game the refs are calling is a coaching issue. Finally, our stagnant offense for 10 minutes is a coaching issue. We have a great team. We just beat the 7th ranked team without a full roster. And that missing player may be our alpha offensively. I learned a lot from this win. I rather learn while winning! The problem wasn’t a stagnant offense. We scored the same number of points in each half, 43.
The problem was all the fouls - same issue as last year - and the corresponding patch work roster in the second half.
Gotta clean it up on D
Well those are not comparable games. But OK - we should be good with being up double digits and thankfully winning with frees tonight. So you don’t like wins against good teams we could’ve lost? Im guessing you didn’t like 99 because we only won by 3 and could’ve easily lost in the last
Literally gave me zero concerns. It’s the 4th game and Nobody else has Dybantsa.Well those are not comparable games. But OK - we should be good with being up double digits and thankfully winning with frees tonight.
If the last 10 minutes or so don't give you some concern going forward, I don't know what to tell you.
Dybantsa had 21 of the 52We actually scored 43 pts in both halves, never woulda guessed that… difference was BYU scored 52 in the second half.
